the best drive for the original xbox was the samsung drive, they'd play anything you'd put in them. you could tell if you have a samsung just by looking at the tray, eject it and look for two little finger sized holes (1-1.5cm diameter) either side of the larger gap where the transport sits (when the tray is closed obviously). modding your original xbox is fun and easy, you don't even have to open it (no chipping required) and you can pick up an xbox for less than |

going back a bit to the religious discussion (and knowing that y'all enjoy a bit of controversial friendly debate) ... have we all seen zeitgeist yet? here's the torrent just in case: http://zeitgeistmovie.com/dloads.htm without thinking about the timing, i suggested to my husband to post the doco for discussion on another forum, just before christmas day - needless to say it was not received well. the first comment spat fire about blasphemy and i'm not sure the poster even managed to make it five minutes into part 1. others who did make it thru disregarded it as "conspiracy theory". opps! so much for some intelligent discussion. anyway the doco includes some fascinating research and makes some interesting points - just wondering what others thought about it ... |

thanks ven. i will surely get it.....after my throttle is over!!!!! damn aussie isp's!!! again. i am waiting on a book from the library called 'the god delusion', which is apparently very good. it sounds like it is along a very similar line. dm, your stance that religion should be fluid etc, is very true. buddism, i believe, revolves around these principles. i really can't say much about it, cause i haven't looked into it too much, but it is on my to do list. i'll add more later in regards to the rest, when i put the kids to bed!! |

imzadi, if you are looking for a new isp, i'd go for tpg. they have an adsl2 plan with 150gb for $60 or $70 per month. that's what i'm waiting for. we don't have adsl2 here yet, but i can only hope that it comes soon. it's 40gb peak and 110gb off peak (between 3 and 9 am, i think). that's easy, you just set up the scheduler to run flat chat during those times. mind you, i'd be stoked with just the 40gb, compared to my shameful 25gb at the moment (which i have been known to hit about 2 weeks in!!!) |

you're right, because we havent' had the need, haven't read the fineprint. if uploads are counted, i'd be screwed, so it would definately be a no-no. |

i just checked the tpg website. http://www.tpg.com.au/products_services/adsl_pricing.php#adsl it says that upload traffic is not counted. but if azureus doesn't have a scheduler, i suppose that is still of no use to you. |

i must say thank-you to imzadi. after our chat about isp's and looking into tpg again, i found that they don't offer my current package of 25gb anymore. what have they got in it's place????? a 25/25 plan for the same price!!! shifty buggers! so hubby changed to that today, at no cost. so as soon as that comes thru, i have an extra 25gb to play with a month. wooooooohooooooo!!!!!!!! |

yeah, but i'd hate to be this kid when his parents get home!!! apparently they have had to cut their holiday short due to the incident. but the little bastard doesn't even have the respect to admit that he did anything wrong. he's been plastered over every news station and current affairs program, and he seems to be gloating! the stupid idiot posted an open invite to the party on his myspace page!!! how dumb can you get?????? |

scarier still is that the parents 1. agreed to leave him to his own devices and 2. didn't realise that their boy could pull a stunt like this. what is the world coming to (damn, i'm getting old!!!) |

now, i have my flame proof suit on, so i'm prepared!!! aydin (and others) keep saying that nero is a piece of shit. but what can i use as an alternative to burn dvd's? now i don't mean converting to dvd, i just want to create an iso (or burn cd's for that matter). problem is, i have tried a couple of different programs, and each time we do, it seems to make the system shit itself. what used to take me 10mins to burn now takes me 20 (it has gotten as bad as a couple of hours!). recently a friend has been using dvd fab on his vista system and suggested i try it. well, not so happy now, cause the slowing of burning has come up again. i have uninstalled the program, but the problem still persists. this happened about 6 months ago when we tried another program (the name of which eludes me at the moment). to cut a long story short, we had to rebuild the system to fix the problem. i would really like to avoid this at the moment. anyone have any suggestions????? help!!! oh, by the way, i'm running xp. |
