i agree, brian fuller has yet to let down, everything he creates is brilliant! but it scares me as well, not enough people appreciate his shows while they're on the air. i'm expecting to get tied into another great show that will ultimately get cancelled. wonderfalls only aired 4 eps before it got cancelled, and then the fans rallied like they did for jericho last season, but they didn't get through to the network. they got through to brian and the cast, so they got together and finished the rest of the eps for the dvd set. wit dead like me, it made it to a second season, and then got cancelled, but that was at showtime, before they became the tv series pimps that they are now. (dexter, weeds, brotherhood, meadowlands, californication). brian fuller should be credited as showtimes first best series. jas ps, i can't wait to watch pushing daisies. |

i don't care much for the "detective with a gift" aspect of it, but the set design, wardrobe, lighting, narration, and music made it difficult to turn away. it's some sort of beetlejuice set in a quaint pleasantville, told like mouse hunt. and amelie is somewhere in the mix, too. i can't get enough of this style. |

i just finished watching and i thought it was brilliant. brian fuller has done it again. why do all of the main female characters in his shows always have boy's names (george/dead like me - jaye/wonderfalls - chuck/pushing daisies)? get into this one, you will not be let down! jas |

keep the comments coming whatever you like/dislike it's all about the viewers and you need to realize that right freakin now.........input is the best way you can participate. you guys determine what we watch on tv now and may not realize that yet but it's the truth... so without your input everything is wasted...... |

i see what lbt meant by referring to amelie - i really enjoyed this. i love fuller's quirky way of going at a story (dead like me & wonderfalls) but it seems the majority viewing public (and tv execs) don't agree with me i *really* hope this gets a pickup/full season, but i have a nagging suspicion that it will be too off-beat for a mainstream channel like abc. |

if this is anything like dead like me, and hopful yit will flow in the same way, this will be a quick favorite, unfortunetly no one watching it has a nelson box attached to their tv so the tv execs wont know it, unless you email. if you enjoy shows email the bank rollers, let them know, you watch it, dont let what happened to firefly happen again, but for god sakes wait to email them until after there is a public showing of the show. ^^ |

thanks eztv! i enjoyed it and will check it out this fall. it reminded me of tim burton's beetlejuice, slightly twisted yet quirky. |

let's also not forget to mention that it's directed by barry sonenfeld, here's his resume: space chimps (2008) ... producer pushing daisies (2007) ... executive producer ; pilot director enchanted (2007) ... producer rv (2006) ... director ; irv (photo only) big trouble (2002) ... confused sports radio call in voice ; director ; producer men in black ii (2002) ... neuralyzed father ; director the crew (2000) ... producer wild wild west (1999) ... director ; producer out of sight (1998) ... executive producer men in black (1997) ... director get shorty (1995) ... doorman ; director ; executive producer for love or money (1993) ... director addams family values (1993) ... mr. glicker ; director the addams family (1991) ... director miller's crossing (1990) ... cinematography misery (1990) ... cinematography when harry met sally... ... (1989) ... cinematography big (1988) ... cinematography raising arizona (1987) ... cinematography throw momma from the train (1987) ... cinematography three o'clock high (1987) ... cinematography compromising positions (1985) ... cinematography blood simple (1984) ... cinematography it seems as if the networks are starting to see that they just cannot compete with cable tv series, thus pulling in some of the bigger and biggest names in hollywood to create their programming (even if their shows end up getting scrapped; example: black donnellys - paul haggis) they need programming that really takes television "out of the box" and this is very true with pushing daisies. abc is still very much on top, sharing the hill with fox. this show seems right up their alley. something quite different. jas |
