i can only speak for watching it on a pc, but i didn't see any difference in video quality with this release (xvid codec, bsplayer). as for the one or two glitches, they're so incredibly minor (nothing is even missed) that they're not even worth mentioning. and it was never out of sync. whoever's been suitcase- nuking this thing all night on orlydb was either high or has something against the poor people in europe and elsewhere who are staying up to the wee hours trying to watch this thing. |

yes, i absolutely noticed this, especially on abrupt scene changes or fast motion. while this release is certainly watchable, it's nowhere near the quality of previous releases. |

i suspect people are seeing vastly different things due to using fundamentally different methods of playback such as ffdshow vs xvid vs divx vs all-in-one players like vlc, etc. |

i can live with a few glitches.. in fact i've put up with worse than this encode. if it was a show i don't plan to get the dvds of eventually i might be a little more discerning but lost is a given that i'll buy :-/ |

when people are saying it's nuked, it's nuked, end of story, wait for proper or download the hr if it's better. you always get people coming in and claiming crap like "it's only really minor", or "it's still very/100% watchable", ignore 'all' those posts, they are usually guys who don't have a clue, and/or are willing to put up with stuff that would annoy the crap out of most people. or even worse, they are idiots who preview like 30 seconds of the file and claim it's not nuked based on that... i have never found a nuked file that was even remotely watchable, usually even the nuked description is just the tip of the iceberg, just reads the posts, talk of it being a doggy rip from a bad source, general poor quality, and most of that combined will also usually give really bad results on many stand alone players. don't keep nuked releases alive, just let them just die, it's embarrassing to see 20000 people trying to download a nuked release. and it sure was nice to see 11 people thank the scene for a nuked release on the first page, even better that it almost meant no nuke warning on that first page, thanks to rseiler for getting in there fast... |

the abc feed to the canadian station had glitches that's why it was unnuked. lets see if the actual abc feed was glitched. if so there will be no proper. |

the problem with that theory is that nuking can be done by anyone with access to the pre database and sometimes for reasons other than the quality of the actually encode... it could be related to the size of the rar files (which doesn't matter to those who distribute the avi), it could be typo in the filename, it could be related to the size of the encode (10mb either way won't make a huge difference to the quality but is enough according to scene rules) or it could be related to the sample that's included in the rar files (again, doesn't matter to avi distribution). some release can be nuked for some reason and then un-nuked because the reason isn't valid. as shown in this thread this encode has been nuked and unnuked several times. there have even be a few fake nukes by people causing trouble.. similar to the fake releases that are sometimes pre'd. so to say it's the end of the story is very naive and short sighted. so long as people are downloading with their eyes open and are willing to risk having to download a file again rather than waiting for a proper that may never come or may take several more hours - who's to say they aren't allowed to take that risk. |

yes, people are free to take the risk, but it does not change the nuked status, which makes it a poor risk 99.9% of the time, very few people even pay attention to nukes for file length etc, your playing up an angle that barely even shows it's head anymore. as for the nuked and un-nuked, that happens a fair bit, but it's usually a sign the file is not great, meaning even if it stays un-nuked, chances are many people are not going to be happy with the rip. if a file is being declared nuked for whatever reason, your a lot better off waiting to see if a proper shows up, it's not going to kill you to wait, and more traffic on the nuked file just means less for the proper later on, because people don't like having to download something twice. i'd like to see more people hold off, far to often 'everyone' goes for the nuke, and then the proper takes forever to download... |
