Torchwood 4x07 (HDTV-ASAP)

ugh, the more and more i watch... the gayer and gayer it gets.

main actor being gay.. no problem, having it effect viewers perspective on the show. unforgivable.

there are plenty of ways show show hes a homo, show him doing the deed, without actually showing the
deed.

obviously not all viewers are going to want to see that.

do we need it shoved down our throats.

the thing i find odd is the writers claim he's bi-sexual yet they never show that on screen, on screen
he's always just straight up gay. of course i think it would be better if they didn't have to show it in
every episode. i really don't care about his sexuality.

if you're too insecure about your own sexuality that this genuinely upsets then perhaps you just shouldn't
be watching mature tv programming.

in short: grow up or shut up.

i do not hear anybody complain about having a sex scene with straight people in almost every
american tv-show that is made for adults... the things you see in spratacus for example or tudors...
now finally america is slightly getting over its homofobia and i think that is a great thing!

though personally, i just don't need so many sex scene's in any tv-show 😉 if i wanted to see it.. i
would watch pr0n 😛

it's not homophobic to find it disgusting. it's just heterosexual.

well bugger me, people are getting this all out of propotion.

gay use to mean happy/jolly not what it is now.

it's really just russel t. davies. he tries to inject gay images into just about every show he
produces. (to a lesser extent, he likes to inject interracial couples into everything as well).

it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't try to beat us over the head with it.

i think this new torchwood is pretty crap!!
they have americanised it and taken the excitement out of it.
where is the new cool alien technology and new ideas each week.
its now just another american sifi drama,
the torchwood producers should hang their heads in shame.

let's see, on any given night you can watch a show where people are being torn apart, kids being
abused, shootings, drugged out addicts, swearing, fights and so on. but, two people in an embrace
is somehow disgusting. go figure, yeah no homophobia there.

i agree with you. i like it but it feels like a normal sifi to me. the torchwood i knew has gone.

and that that's not homophobia.

sorry, but having a negative attitude about something solely because of someone's gender is (in today's
society) considered a somewhat irrational behavioural pattern. perhaps not homophobic behaviour but at
the very least it's considered heterosexism (where your bias supports opposite-sex attractions and
relationships as the only norm and therefore superior).

now, if you'd said you found kissing disgusting regardless of the genders involved - that'd be a little weird
but not necessarily irrational in any way.

i'm heterosexual and find nothing disgusting or off putting about displays of homosexuality. two people
loving each other, regardless of gender, is a beautiful thing. you're watching two smiling, happy people
enjoy their lives together, if that's disgusting you then don't you owe it to yourself to figure out exactly why
that is?

if you can't stomach homosexuality that's fine, but that is definitely not a "normal" happen-stance of being heterosexual. when you think about it, it's not far from someone saying "i can't stand seeing black people
on tv" and justifying that as being "normal" behaviour because they're white.

yes it is. be afraid of = phobia, of homosexuals. if you have aversion of seeing two people of same
sex having sex, you not just don't like, you think it's disgusting, it's a phobia, possibly a
moderated one, not strong enough to hate the homosexuals.
it's not a real problem being a homophobic, except you think they should die by your hands with god's

for me it's not really being disgusted it's just annoying that they're making jack as just a one
dimensional gay character, he's not.

i don't really understand why they've felt the need to do so either.

i've stuck with this series, but it's bugging me that they've changed things for no reason at all. i can
generally still enjoy it as long as i remember it's really not torchwood anymore and it is just a so so
average american sci fi show.
