great idea releasing higher quality versions of shows guys. right now my internet is not really good enough to make it worthwhile, but in the future i would really like to get some higher quality episodes of my favorite shows |

i already have this episode in hr, i can\'t wait to see the difference. i do connect my laptop to my hdtv via dvi cable, so we can definately appreciate the higher resolution. i especially want to see heros in this format. i would like to know if vlc will play this .mkv format? anyone? |

which h264 codec is the one to go with (apart from using something that already has built-in support, like videolan or ffdshow)? there seem to be several. |

my feedback: i always download the hr releases where i can, they look damn nice and the 5.1 sounds great on the home theatre. however, i can't play 720p sources because i use my modded xbox to play all my media (http://www.xboxmediacenter.de) and it appears that the xbox's cpu can't decompress the files fast enough. it manages it some spots, but i guess where the scenes are more complex it chokes really badly. thanks for your great work though! |

very glad to see 720p x264, i think it should be done for shows like lost and heroes, and imo there is no need to release the hr.hdtv if your gonna do the x264 so it's only going to be about half again. |

great that you release bett quality files but personally i have no use for them with my old 17" crt monitor. even if i managed to connect to my crappy tv it wouldn't do much of a difference. guess i'll have to get a better screen before i can enjoy these releases. :d |

how about releasing in .mp4? unless you're using subs or chapters, i don't see the need to release in .mkv (i'm hoping in the future stand-alones will play these .mp4, but not sure of .mkv would be supported) |

there is a site, just for these shows. x264.us but its still new and under construction and would be very hard to maintain a ratio i'd imagine. |

i would definitely download anything h/x.264 over xvid, etc. just 'cuz i think the xvid compression artifacts are more annoying than h/x.264's. nice of them to size these releases so it just fits 4 eps on a dvd, too. i'd download these instead of the hrs i've been downloading. (& if this catches on, i'm gonna have to buy another hard drive!) for those who asked, yes vlc will play them, but you'll need quite a fast computer in order to play them well. (x.264 is way more processor intensive than xvid, and the higher resolution makes it tougher, too.) i think the k-lite codec pack has the codecs you'll want to play it in something else. |

curb71 wrote: "there is a site, just for these shows. x264.us" apologies for the double post, but how does one get into this site? oh, & i'm grateful for whatever you guys release, but if you're interested in hearing requests, put me down for 1 more vote for heroes, at least when the new eps start again. thanks for this! |
