you only need to change "r" to a "u" to reflect the shows real name lol

i find it odd that anyone cares and like others have mentioned no one would be
talking about it if it was a hetro tarting around...i'm sure if you have been
alive for as long as he has, you would wanna try something else...sheep may be?
mmmm sheep

two men kissing on a television show is no more shoving homosexuality in your
face, than a man and a woman kissing is shoving hetrosexuality in your face.

a few of you really need to wake up and realise that you really do have a
problem with homosexuality and are afraid to admit it. stop pretending you are
all for various sexual freedoms, when it's clear a simple kiss or hug disturbs
you so.

+1 -- other than this post, there's a lot of hypocritical typing going on
here

where are the complaints about heterosexual sex scenes /
relationships / story
arcs being too 'in your face' in the vast majority of prime time television? it
all seems to boil down to a particularly middle class prudishness that is
summed
up by "some of my best friends are gay, but i really wish they would keep their
pesky lifestyle behind closed doors."

torchwood has always been about sexuality as a spectrum, and celebrating sex
and
relationships in all manner of forms. it's refreshing to have a show that
doesn't place sexuality and sexual relationships within a particularly
prescribed hierarchy, whereby tits and ass are par for course and acceptable
viewing whilst eating one's dinner, but where two guys having a snog is
verboten
and dangerous and let's all shake our heads and write a tersely worded letter
to
the editor. good on the show for pushing the envelope and challenging peoples
deeply held prejudices in a way that is playful and celebratory.

if it's really too hard to cope with then quit the bitching and watch something
else that more closely conforms to everyday 'safe' heteronormative ideals.

don't mind the gayness (gay heroes/protagonists are long overdue anyway), but
for the love of sci-fi, they shouldn't turn this into another soap opera. just
let the whole team have a fvcking orgy already and get it over with - only so
many combinations of team members to exhaust, right? then turn it into a sci-fi
show again.

i don't think the people here are complaining about the gay scenes so much as
they are complaining that the gay scenes seem to have absolutely nothing to do
with the story lines. i mean, after all, the first time we found out they
were gay was when they just all of a sudden and out of nowhere, started
kissing. if the character story was developed or if there was a reason for it
to be happening that had anything to do with the story line, then i don't
think that any of us would even be talking about it.

these aren't a bunch of homophobes here....these are people asking a
legitimate question. why is there gay scenes on the show if there is no story
line supporting it?

it does seem to me that the producers/directors are just pushing the
lifestyle. i can't think of one gay scene that has had anything to do with
the story line.

yeah this is last weeks one. finale next week.

i hope the rumours aren't true for next season, it'll change the dynamics of the
show too much. getting rid of characters that people like, and bringing in
people we thought they'd get rid of (i count that as a teaser, not a spoiler ;o) )
where can us spoiler wanting people see these teasers?

actually, jack isn't gay, he's omnisexual. if you remember from dr. who when he
first appeared and they talked about the time he came from (51st century). about
how man moved out into space to discover new life and to have sex with it.

exactly, jack will screw anything, except the dr. who writers had formed it into more of a comedic
experience, where the torchwood writers, well tried and failed miserably, one catchy line after a steamy
encounter, what did jack say to gwen when she walked in on him and yanto?

however, i wouldn't call torchwood exactly big budget tv, it's a filler for when the doctor isn't around. so,
the main character is gay, very much so. what direction do you expect the show to take? besides, is british
tv ever suppose to make complete sense all of the time? in the states everything has to be spelled out
for us, little fun background plots going on can't be done, we just don't get it. i suspect, just suspect that
most of the people complaining aren't british.

spot on. as a penis enthusiast myself it's nice to see a same sex relationship
in a show, but it reaches a point where it's just shoved in there. they set out
to make a more adult oriented doctor who and ended up with a show that features
the odd alien and a cast who can't stop sleeping with anything and everything.

so torchwood is just like every other drama on tv, except this one also has
same sex couples and aliens.

i am a fan of the show, but enough of the gayness.
if it is a part of the character's background, fine.
it seems that it is flaunted this entire second season.
i feel it could be toned down a little.

i've always said torchwood is russel t davies' way of promoting gayness. really
ruins a tv show when the showrunner (supposedly anyway...only running he's done
with doctor who is running it into the ground and running torchwood as gay pride
bbc) tries to promote their own personal beliefs in their show when the majority
don't care about it. i'm totally fine with gay people ... as long as they're
not shoving it in my face.

sorry. i have a large hatred of rtd. seriously. if i met that man in the
street, i would smack him as hard as possible in his face. absolutely hate how
he's made dw into a kids show after the stunningly awesome first season.

well all i can say is why not - the gay community has the straight community
thrust in their face all the time 24/7 365 days a year - 99.99999% of whats
either on tv or the movies is straight - the moment 1 gay writer creates a
character who is gay on prime time tv and writes his sexuality into the story
line you suddenly think its been shoved in your face - ya think???

i take it you come from a democratic area of the world - so use your choice and
stop watching it - its always been your decision no one is making you watch.

go mr. davies!

personally i\'m a little sick of reese and gwen. i mean it\'s all fine if they
want to be welsh behind closed doors, but i mean when they come onto primetime
telly with their welshness and that.. i mean it\'s absolutely disgusting... won\'t
somebody please think of the poor scottish children that are subject to this
kind of welshness on tv

... ok but seriously

this season jack is getting back to the tone he had on doctor who, which i
loved. and that means showing his sexual nature. the gay relationship is fun
and adds dimension to 2 characters. jack still flirts with woman, if that's
what bothers you. sexuality is part of his nature and his ability to go from
one gender to the next, one spices to the next and other gender
possibilities we can't conceive of is a central to his life way in the future,
his evolution. i 'm also happy that this season jack smiles more, makes a few
more wise cracks (though i wish they would bump that up a notch), a bit more of
a dashing rogue- a hero form the 25th century
