one thing i didn't like is they make a big deal of the character's ages, sayin'
the boy is 15 ... or 16 ? .... but the actor playing the part looks older than
that. i thought he looked at least 21-22 years old, not 15-16. same with the
"terminator girl", why don't they get actors who are the correct age, or make
them 20-21 years old in the story, not high school kidz. :-)

since nobody mentioned any descriptions of the differences i\'ll offer some.
personally i thought the pre-air was waaay better and had better scene editing
and acting as well, since they reshot some of the scenes in the official version.
*****spoilers********
beginning scene john isn\'t in a classroom he\'s at a public library which doesn\'t
make sense because when he leaves the room it\'s the same shot of him and sarah
walking in the school hallway and there are a bunch of classroom doors. it was
pointless to change it.
added a quick scene where a policeman is shooting back at the terminator in the
dream.
the guy that plays sarah\'s boyfriend has been changed and is now played by dean
winters from oz fame. total miscast if you ask me. dean winters was good on oz
but he\'s completely out of place here. the original actor\'s personality was good
for the part and his acting is more believable than winters. he\'s excellent at
showing his physical and emotional distress at the police station and at the end
but winters just looks like this tough guy with a permanent scowl on his face.
bad change.
the scene where the terminator says, \"class dismissed,\" they cut the shot right
after he turns around and looks at the students--where the students are looking
at his leg and then they look up at him in fear. i thought that added realism
and tension but now he just turns around and immediately says class dismissed.
ya i know it\'s nitpicking but like i said, it added realism and they took it away.
the scene where they are sneaking up to dyson\'s house has been cut along with
the voiceover. that was a good scene that gave historical context and built up
the story. i don\'t know why they cut it out.
some new scenes were added. john and cameron have a little chat while they\'re
filling up gas. after sarah gets shot they show her getting stitched up. these
were ok, nothing special. also the ending is different. the last scene is all 3
of them standing in front of an old house looking contemplative with sarah\'s
voiceover. definitely not as good as the pre-air.
as i said before, some scenes were reshot. but nothing changed and the dialogue
is the same. but the acting is flatter in these reshoots. for example, the scene
in the warehouse where john is pleading with his mom to help stop everything was
reshot which was unnecessary because his acting had more depth and emotion in
the pre-air version. he was fighting back tears while saying it but in this
version he just says it with a stern look. one of the dialogue scenes in the
bank between sarah and cameron was also needlessly reshot.
a quick shot where sarah looks at the isotope turning red.
so imo the pre-air is superior to this one. better pacing and editing and the
scenes flowed more smoothly. i wonder why they went with this version.

the original pilot was bad if they did not change anything then this will not
be any better either.
everyone thinks that is the the 4 coming of terminators but no this is just
going to be another kylexy series. targetted to teens and the usual teen
problems.
for me the lead "woman" characters acting hasn't been anything but mediacore
in serenity or 4400 so i dont really understand what's the great hype again.
if you actually see the "evil" terminator more than once with crappy cgi like
the pilot in the following few episodes, i would be mostly impressed.

i thought the show was pretty good. too early to decide how good it will be.
summer glau appears to be getting hotter the older she gets.
btw can anyone tell me what year this show starts in? i think i missed it or
it wasn't shown?
anyways, i was reading some information on it, and it appears that it takes
place right after t2 and it's like t3 never happened. so the story won't
coincide with the 3rd movie i guess. kind of disappointed about that but oh
well.

...
thanks for the details; i didn't feel like hunting around for my pre-air copy to
compare it...but now i want to if only to purge the memory of how "different" it
felt.
my previous comments were on what i had seen a few months back, and after
watching this version i'm glad i saw the pre-air first. definitely better than
this (and where i felt the acting was terrific).
seriously, why screw with a good thing? re-shooting recast parts i get, but the
warehouse scene? school/library substitution? makes no sense.

they show at the very beginning when she tells john that they have to leave that
it was 1999. later when they time jumped they went to 2007.
the creators have decided to ignore terminator 3 as if it never happened. the
show starts 2 years after terminator 2.

so this show only likes other gay shows?
seriously, why does almost every teenager call things they dislike "gay"?
dude... your so gay.
i don't actually mean that as an insult, i just think its fun to say. it rolls
off the tongue a fair bit easier than douche, idiot, homosecksual and many other
insults...
