it would be great if old torrents would be isolated to another section rather
than many people being misled that this is a new release, airing today/last
night, etc. if being released days after the airing, it should not be in the
same data section as ...

i think my point is clear.

not clear at all, traumadoc. where is the old torrent you're complaining about?

this torrent is 7 or 8 hours behind the faulty ep (audio synch problems) that it
replaces but it isn't old. perhaps you didn't realize before hitting your 'vent'
button that the hdtv episodes are aired several days after the lower res ones.

it's really cool the xbox 360 can stream all this stuff now....hr versions look
awesome.

thanks for the upoload!

ps: i don't think first poster is clear at all either...

i think the original poster is confused because there is dsr rips of atlantis
that come out before the hdtv ones. he downloads the dsr rip watches it forgets
the name, then the hdtv version is released and he get excited that a new ep is
available but it turs out he has seen it already !!

i agree with traumadoc and howey. it\'s confusing to see stargate atlantis be
released one day and couple days later the episode seems to be released again. i
always have to check whether i\'ve seen the episode or not. i do not store every
episode i download so instead i have to check episode guides or comments to see
what the episode is about. it\'s stupid.

people who are concerned whether they download hdtv, dsr, xyz, bia, repack,
pr0p3r or foo release can find the files even if you try to hide them. users
like me - the majority - don\'t care. show the episode and i\'m happy. just don\'t
show same episode me twice.

other than that, thanks eztv.

it is confusing. it'd be nice to just have some indication that this is the
episode that was released (in another format/quality/whatever) almost a week
ago, and not a new one. i always check, and that's not such a big deal, but at
the same time, not 100% sure.

people should read before downloading, instead of just hitting the quick
download button. if you download torrents without knowing what it is, you are
franly said an idiot. there are always some comments on quality (if it's bad),
and sites like tv.com give you all the episode info you need. unless you are
new to the 'game', you should know what abbreviations like hdtv or dsr mean.
if not, first get to know your sh*t!

i'm so sick of people blaming their own inadequacy on others. know your sh*t
or shut up!

i do however agree that old nuked releases should be removed on the spot.
keeping these only confuses people and they start whining again.

hr ?

he means halfres, so instead of 720p its half that, which is why a 720p version is usually released

why would i be idiot if i download based on the torrent name? during one week i
must be downloading tens of different tv series which each has similar snnenn
tag indicating season and episode. i don't always remember which episode was the
last on which series. eztv makes it easy to check whether new episodes have been
aired just by checking the mainpage. except when stargate atlantis is being
re-released.

i do know the difference between the releases. it's not the point here. the
point is that if someone wants to download exactly the 720p hdtv version or
exactly the dsr xvid-otv release they can do so by their own. they don't need
the link on eztv mainpage to do that.

for majority of people (this is my guess) it's sufficient to see any release
being released.

i'm not eztv "poweruser". all i do is check the mainpage and occasionally
comments.

or like smart people do, you could use rss feeds to get
automatically what you want and not worry about it.

i tried rss feed when it was introduced at eztv but it didn't work as reliably
as it should have.

it is not confusing at all.

i mean... most people learn how to count to 10 in the 1rst grade.

if rss didn't work reliably, then you or your computer are doing something wrong ๐Ÿ™‚

as for the people complaining that they download too much and can't remember
what they've got - then geez, use one of the many facilities on the internet for
keeping track of the shows you like, the episodes you've downloaded, and the
episodes you've watched. don't like those options? spend 3 minutes making a
spreadsheet to do it! it's easy.

but don't complain because you can't remember 5 days ago....

something more worthwhile to complain about would be this has been up for 9
hours and the tracker still isn't connectible yet, and the stats on the front
page just show 0's, so i know it's not just me ๐Ÿ™‚

first off, i didnt check....

does anyone knows why the hr version is lacking?

408 does not have a hr copy, and i'm guessing 410 doesnt have one too since it's
sorta late...

if eztv didn\'t list the old shows i wouldn\'t have to be bothered with whether
i\'ve seen the episode or not. i was glad to notice that i\'m not the only one who
finds sg:a being re-released confusing.

what comes to eztv rss feed i was using it with utorrent. it worked sometimes
but occasionally it downloaded more than one release needlessly. bandwidth is
not so much of a problem but it\'s still stupid to download unwanted releases
automatically. setting up the correct downloads was also bit difficult to get
right. touting how good it is isn\'t helping at all if it\'s not working as i want
it to work. maybe i\'ll give it another chance though.

even sg:a confusion is just a little bit of inconvenience - but still an
inconvenience. if you tell me to update spreadsheet it\'s just moving the
inconvenience away from eztv to spreadsheet.

i dont find the current system 'confusing' at all! in fact, it helps seeing
what's newly posted on the main page. then i can determine if i need to go to
the info page, my own page, or somewhere else.

mostly, i'd just like to know the quality of the torrent posted! that's why i
read the comments first!

sadly, most of the comments are either whiners, spoilers (damn spoilers! go to
the forums if you want to talk about content!), or geographical announcements. :-(

so thanks to eztv in general and thanks in specific to those who post about

quality of torrent!

and in that vein.... i'm dl'g this one now, but am assuming the "repack" will be
of excellent quality. it usually is ;-)

peace out
