cops gets skewed by the camera crew being there. it is certainly much more "real" than the usual reality tv shows, the only thing that could be more real is probably the stuff on court tv. basically real life is boring and doesn't make for good tv |

i thought this show was ok. however, it's impossible to believe that the kids were "alone" in the desert. there are too many "holes" in the show. for example, who is filming the kids??? it stands to reason that there were adults operating the cameras and production equipment. my impression was that the show is a good idea but with child safty and child abuse laws theres no possible way that this show could be done the way that the network is perporting. nice try guys but way too fake. i will probably watch but i was dissapointed. |

it was stated before the series started that aside from the film and production crew who were obviously adults, there were also paramedics and child psychologists on hand if needed. the controversy, i'm sure, was for the sole purpose of getting viewers to see if these kids actually were mistreated. personally, i think it's an awesome adventure for the kids. i would have loved it at their age. now that old age has given me a fear of my own mortality, i look at "adventures" differently...lol. if i remember correctly, the "serious" injuries were nothing terribly serious. things like a burn from a stove, a twisted ankle or skinned knee is part of growing up. and as it's already been said here, kids are much more resilient than we feeble "old folk". in all honestly, i watched the show prepared to hate it, but i was pleasantly surprised. it touched me to see the enthusiasm of the kids and the way they came together when they had to. i think a lot of adults could learn from kids...perhaps starting with our governments...lol. the show won't be for everyone, few shows are...but i enjoyed and am happy to see it here because i plan to continue to watch it. to each his own, i guess. =) |
