The Pickup Artist S01E01 DSR XviD-SYS

eight lonely, socially inept men travel to austin, texas, to receive guidance
and training from the self-proclaimed world's greatest pick-up artist,
mystery. they learn that the weakest student will be eliminated each week
until only one remains to be crowned a master pick-up artist. but before the
education begins, the students are sent into a nightclub to show mystery their
pick-up skills, then mystery and his wingmen show the awed students how it's
really done.

anybody heard of this??

it's basically like beauty and the geek except for the fact that mystery is the
real deal. i only saw like one ep, but he got the geeks making out with girls
they had just met. he's actually a well known pick up artist and has been
teaching other guys how to do it for years. from an educational standpoint, this
show might be worth something.

ive watched the shows, and im pretty impressed with the techniques mystery
teaches. seems to work really well, as long as the geeks dont go for the
hottest girls at the party.

you do know reality shows are scripted, right?

no way! and there i was, thinking some "techniques" for picking up girls were
really working out for these inept geeks. hehe of course it's all fake,
wouldn't be much fun to watch for the hopeful masses otherwise.

i've been watching this as its been released. not a bad show, not a great show.
his "mystery methods" arent bad, though i dont really see them working more
times then not in the "real world". but the show does what its supposed to do,
entertain.

then you haven't even scatched the surface yet...

also it's not about "tricks" "scripts" or whatever. it's about becoming a real
man and taking charge of your life.

that's why, eventhough i have huge respect for mystery, i don't really like the
elimination set-up of the show. it creates a very strange image of the "pickup
community". these guys are a great community and love to help...

i'm actually fairly certain, that it broke mystery's hart more then once,
having to choose between so many guys that all are so eager to change their
life (and the life of their future partners) and learn.

look losers,
this show is utter crap.
who picks up a chick with the opener of " hey i saw some girl outside whose
tittie came out of her shirt." just say "hi, what your name, my name is ______."
then be yourself. and by "yourself" i mean you, not some loser in a big
velveteen hat with black nail polish. sure with the mystery method you might
make out with some half-way cute chick, but you wont get in her pants the same
night, or ever speak to her again.

thats why the show is funny. who cares if you don't like the method... the
results of ppl trying it are hilarious and entertaining... aka the opposite of
utter crap

from an educational standpoint you are not gonna learn much with this show.
since mystery only give tiny little bits of information about his method.
the show is for entertainment purpose only. and really good at that since i
don't like reality shows but i love this one.

about being scripted we can only speculate since no one here work on the show(
i guess), and if it is would be unnecessary because mystery could pull this
off. ironically mystery cant teach them too much on each episode because they
would improve too much too fast and the show would be unbelievable for people
outside the community and no one would buy his products. if the show is in fact
scripted is probably because of a technical issue filming than anything else.

pick up material works with any type of girl some methods are better for
specific types of girls some at specific types of environment (mystery is not
the only method or pick up artist(pua) that exist, and not my favorite at that,
but one of the best) some are focus on a direct approach some on indirect
others on inner game or outer game so there is a style for everyone.
if you are interested search for more, you can find all information you need
on forums and products made by puas. the products you can either
buy (if you have the money) or download on a private or public tracker or
emule.

just a little tip before you download or buy anything look for a forum in your
country or city specialize on the subject(a seduction community) they are kind
of underground but not really that difficult to find. there you can find
beginners to experts who will be more than happy to help you improve your game
and to point you at the right direction and they will treat you with respect no
matter how much experience you have. and they usually have meetings to exchange
knowledge and/or to go out and meet girls so if you are not a social person you
will have friend to go out with and meet girls and become more social.

remember the community is about treating people and yourself with respect and
becoming a better person some people enter the community with the wrong mind
set

no. neil strauss' book is based on his experiences living with mystery and
other in the speed-seduction community.

i've actually been to one of mystery's boot camps, paid the several thousand
dollars to learn his material, and i can tell you firsthand it works. i'm about
300 pounds and for awhile was jobless, but was able to pick up about 60% of the
girls i approached (meaning they were in my bed within a week), about half who
were model caliber, and the other half close enough to it. right now i'm married
to an incredible attractive and successful woman, who i would have originally
been too afraid to approach without the confidence (and competence) his method
gives you. the show itself doesn't reveal a lot of the psychology behind why
certain things work, but i promise you that his material, while it looks
strange, can work every time. some guys have adapted the method to be able to
get a woman into bed every time on the first night, within 4 hours. i originally
called it crap too, but after seeing it work firsthand, and then being able to
do it myself, i definitely believe it.

that said, 6 weeks or whatever these guys have is very little time to really
learn this stuff. it takes several months to get comfortable with just the
material and to get enough practice where you don't look like a douchebag. plus,
in real life the people who are willing to learn don't get eliminated. i'd be
willing to bet money that the people he eliminates get hooked up with someone to
continue their training.

the end goal with this is to create a better man, to retain all the good points
but strengthen all those weak points that make them too afraid to approach women
they are attracted to. and, the system works to make that happen all the time.
i've not been rejected in a long time; the 40% of girls i approached that didn't
wind up in bed, most of those were because i didn't try to get them there,
either because they were too drunk, too crazy, whatever. seriously, if you're
having problems approaching women, look these guys up.
