not wanting to rain on anyone\'s parade, but it was my
understanding that the
producers had asked the torrent community if they could refrain from
distributing their program. unlike \'normal\' tv, there are no studios or
advertisers to support them here and cutting off their income source (episode
sales on their website) will kill them real fast... the choice is yours, if you
like it, support it. if you don\'t like it, why torrent it?

and...point? you do know this is a torrent site? main purpose of the site is to
download anything you might like and that's what i'm going to continue doing no
matter what self righteous posters like you say. bu-bye.

oh, and for the idiots who only put this out as a
high def x.264's, thanks for
leaving all of us with older hardware to transcode files all night instead of
torrenting.

get coreavc
best quality programming in codec ever
720 xvids kill my machine, but 1080p h264 is smooth as silk

that's kinda odd. 720p xvid plays fine on xbmc but 720p h264 grinds it to a
halt and is completely unwatchable on xbmc. as far as the xbox is concerned
xvid is much easier on it.

the show is great and have already purchased the first 2 sets in hd. its just
way too expensive for what you are getting. ive paid $17 for a little over an
hour of programming. i understand this is a new medium but the price needs to
come down a lot. maybe making the episodes ~25 min or having a $25-30 season
price. i will continue to support for a little while because of the new format
but if something doesn\'t change soon, i will definitely not continue paying for it.

you're fucking kidding right? these files would be a gigabyte per episode if
encoded in xvid. and just because you're still using your 8 year old seedbox for
a pc the scene should adapt to you and release them in xvid? wow you really are
retarded.

"older hardware"? lmao, older hardware has no trouble playing x264 files, you
could use coreavc to improve it even more. but then again, antiquated hardware
might have trouble playing these files, so get a new system and stop moaning
about it here.

what the hell are you talking about? 1gb in size? there are xvid versions
available that are only about 200mb in size!

yeah, i run a 850mhz celeron, i can play everything up to hr.hdtv tv, but not
720p x264 and i'm fine with that. it's the people like me who still benefit from
the scene, as the majority of releases play fine on a 500mhz celeron (all xvid
movies and hdtv tv shows).

the \"standard definition\" versions are out there; try isohunt, mininova, or
google.

intelligent coward... what world do you live in?

so you are suggesting they put out lesser quality versions because you aren't
caught up with the rest of the world? you already said you were to cheap to pay
for them to begin with, the version you want is only 2 freakin bucks every two
weeks, you "can't" afford that? i'm glad it's a hassle for you to get things
for free. also, your crappy hardware isn't going to help anyone get it faster
anyway, so shut up, quit complaining and get a new job.

a few thoughts for the other posters:

frednurk:

this is a torrent site.. and regardless of what anyone asks someone will always
pirate programming.

in my own case i sent $ to the producers as well as bitching at them to produce
the hd in avi format or x264/mkv but also informing them in the meantime i'll be
dl'ing the scene rips since they play better on the hardware in my living room.
(it plays the xvid avi's perfectly unlike the shit wmv).

wrecche:

i agree completely about shows going to shit and/or good shows being killed (esp
by fox) but this is a slightly diff case. supporting the producers is worth it
even if it is by emailing them to say you enjoy the show and telling them what
you have posted in here as well. that way they at least have more information
about what the "end users" are doing and wanting.

intelligent coward:

upgrade your system.. it can be done very cheaply and if you choose not to then
stfu. just because you are using what is an antique in the world of computers
doesn't mean we all should cater to your needs. that would be the same as your
using beta and bitching about ppl only making dvd rips. either keep up or shut
up it's that simple.

persim:

i agree completely that it is very pricey for the size. that is why i sent $20
total for the entire series to the producers instead of buying them on their web
site. i also pointed out to them that the hd should never be sold for more than
the sd since that's just playing the same scam as the "cable" providers etc pull.

minus0ne:

the episodes would not be a gb each by encoding with xvid.. x264 and xvid use
the same effective bit rate and can both be encoded using the same bit rate
calculator(s) as a rule. the difference is xvid cannot compete in the
quality/bit at higher resolutions in comparison to x264. however 720p can be
made with xvid quite easily and with very acceptable quality. (all of the
releases of this in 720p but ep 5 have been xvid)

brygdom

quicktime alternative is your friend.

however there is no special relationship of qt with this show other than it
being one of the 2 formats it is
currently released in.

i wasn't complaining about the first episode being qt.

i was wondering why i am able to show it in full screen without paying for the
full version of qt that only allows you to view it in full screen.

normally when i click view, full screen, it says i need to upgrade to pro
version.

i didn't think you were complaining.

however you do pose an interesting question.. but w/o knowing the exact version
you have.. your os and/or patches for such etc etc it would be difficult for
anyone to say overall.

i do know that using qt alternative and mpc/vlc a mov will play fs all the time
w/o a problem. (i prefer to avoid mov/wmv regardless though)

instead of asking since everyone's opinion would it not be more appropriate to
download the trailer (sanctuaryforall.com) and/or download an episode and decide
for yourself?
