just ignore the trolls - thanks much from those of us that were disappointed by the measly hour of coverage available in the states. |

i didn't mean to cause offence with my previous post. i was merely expressing an opinion, which wasn't vulgar, i didn't use fowl language and looking away from popular news culture, is also widely shared. personal opinions are allowed on this site, right? my younger brother died as a result of a car accident when he was only twelve. i use the word accident loosely as he was hit by somebody driving too fast, a small minded prick that didn't even apply the brakes before he hit him. he would be 18 next month; every birthday, christmas, family vacation and new year since it happened has been unbearably painful in a way i couldn't even imagine. my point is that hundreds of people die around the world every day as a result of car accidents, and nobody even bothers to care. some are immensely tragic such as those involving buses and trains. however, just because she was a princess, albeit widely loved, we hear about it constantly, there are even many conspiracy theories about it being a result of a cia plot or aliens; it was a drunken limo driver, and although very sad, these things happen all the time. i just cannot feel loss ofr somebody i never even met. i think the concert was nothing more than pa set of publicity stunts for so-called pop stars to promote themselves. unlike live8, there was no number for people to call up and donate, it was just a concert in dead diana's name. i guess she would have loved it, but perhaps not for everyone. |

it wasn't just because she was a princess, it was because she did a lot for the world. the charities she founded and raised profiles of, raised millions of pounds and saved countless live due to it all. her being a princess obviously helped in these areas but it was hard fucking work. of course it wasn't a bloody publicity stunt for any one involved, the reason the musicians did it was because she meant alot to alot of people, and yes more so than probably any other person, whether they died the same way she did or not. tens of thousands of pounds were raised on that day for diana's charities, no one profited, no celebrities, no tv company not even the princes themselves. and we don't hear about her constantly, she was widely involved in alot of things all over the world, they still live on, she was a major part in them, and was probably the only reason they got started in the first place. the princes are carrying on her work, and if getting a few pop stars to sing to remember her and everything which she did means a bit of press for a couple of weeks, good on them. she isn't in the press everyday because she was just a princess. she did good in this world, more than any other person on the damned planet. good on her. we should never forget her or her causes. |

great post so thanks a bunch for that. i will get taking a look at the concert myself. it's a shame some people still don't know how to conduct themselves here when we are celebrating diana and her music. i'm not sure how old fergie is, but i'm sure lily hadn't even grown tits and pubes when diana left us all, 10 years ago. for all the posters of foul-mouthed messages in this topic, i can only offer toilet tissue so they can wipe their mouths. oh and may you all rot in hell. have a nice one motherfukinmotherfukers! |

this was arranged almost completely by the 2 princes for the last 6-8 months. all the acts were personally invited. so not sure how the acts were in on the "stunt" as you call it. furthermore, all the acts played for free, and all the money raised thru tv/tickets/future cd sales go to the charities of which diana was the patron. |
