sorry, but i have called it soccer all my life, and will continue to call it soccer, since even in the paper, its known as the soccer draw/results/news etc. so yes until recently in australia it was called soccer. (or at least for the last 35 years) and football refered to rugby union and rugby league and victorian rules football was just that till it became australian rules, but its still a bunch of fags jumping each other in front of a crowd playing aerial pingpong. |

yes, well in australia (up until a couple of years ago) and obviously america, it was called soccer. probably because we already had 'football' in one form or another. and sorry to disagree with the almighty, but it is the best bloody sport in the world! it is played worldwide, as opposed to our respective country's football. coming from european parents, i grew up with soccer. i must admit, i have never even been to an aussie rules or rugby match in my life! very unaustralian, i know. |

dolls are fine. it's the clowns you have to worry about. seriously. what kind of sadistic bastard thought up clowns? |

agreed on that. and it's not like i've watched any horror flicks with clowns or anything. i just vividly remember attending a birthday party many moons ago.. clown with all that colorful makeup and the constant forced smile.. something about a mid-40s man dressed up to entertain little kids is unsettling. |

4 year olds don't watch horror flicks. i remember that my mum thought it would be a great idea to put a huge poster of a clown on my wall as a kid. the bloody thing watched me all the time, no matter where i was in the room. it took me a while to finally convince her to take the bloody thing down. i think my mum may have had a sadistic streak in her ;p |

i have about $5000 in cash that i can invest in. what should i invest in? mutual funds? brokerage ira? i prefer some legit responses please. the usual silly responses are welcomed as well but this is something i actually want some advice on. i've googled so don't retort with that. i'm just trying to bring some semblance of credibility to my thread for once. credibility meaning useful information for old folks heading for retirement like me =p |

any raw materials stock - aluminium, steel (not a raw material i know) copper, etc etc. basic law of supply (finite resource on this planet until we start mining the asteroid belt) and demand (china india etc) dictates that the price is only going one way. up. |

what i've heard also.. are soft drinks and candy.. 2 pretty good investments at least in the united states. makes sense.. most every american see soft drinks as standard in meals and they never get just a small drink from 7-11.. it's always big gulp. |

personally, i would look into alternative energy sources. but i wouldn't be putting all my money into one, but a variety of them. and i'd steer clear of the soft drink and candy. somehow, i think the person may have been pulling your leg. i think it would be a risky venture, at best. with the obsession with obesity, these will be frowned upon. the likelihood of them growing by much is very slim. (no pun intended) |
