whats all this talk of 'master' and such a fight at end of season? i saw this
episode and hear the face of
boe tell about how there is another timelord out there... i didn't watch the
'old series' (before my time), so
whats the back story here?
== spoiler ==

edit:
gah -- classic doctor who characters coming back then?

i too came to the doctor who bandwagon when the 2005 series started, so i have
no idea about the "master" and such speak, so could anyone point me to a website
that could "widen my perspectives"?

i've looked around, but i can't find anything good :s

the master is another time lord but has turned evil, sort of a renegade time
lord who is the greatest individual enemy of the doctor.

if i had to hazard a guess, it would be that they're bringing
back the master!

if i had to guess, i'd say there's more timelords left - quite a few in fact.
but just hazarding a guess. never watched the old series - just watched since
2005 (because i wasn't even alive when the show was originally on).

from someone who loved this when he was 5:

the master is the doctor's arch-enemy, as far as i can remember he is a
renegade timelord who murdered the doctor's father/family (maybe wrong) and
the doctor stole the tardis to pursue him for revenge. eventually being caught
and put on trial by the other timelords the doctor was banished to earth to
serve as its protector (timelords were kind of like jedi knights, but bear in
mind this series was created in the sixties) and the tardis was taken from
him. he was also forced to regenerate as a punishment for his crimes, a death
sentence if you will (this was the second into the third doctor, jon pertwee).
eventually he regained the tardis and battled the master on more than one
occasion (in fact the master has killed him twice forcing his regeneration
into both the fourth and fifth doctors, although he was defeated himself). the
master also has a tardis, the cloaking device on it actually works so it
blends in to wherever it appears as some sort of incongrous object, unlike the
doctor's which broke in britain of the 60s, hence its appearance as a police
call box - yeah poor excuse but it makes sense). several other timelords have
appeared in the series, most notably romana, assistant to the fourth doctor
when he was ordered to prevent the master from seizing the key of time, which
tbh i can't remember the purpose of.

anyway, the daleks appear regularly because they are the most popular villains
and the most deadly, the doctor was even ordered by the timelords to break the
laws of time and prevent them being created (genesis of the daleks), an act of
genocide of a race which he chose not to fulfil. despite the ropey effects ths
series has always had excellent plots and generally decent performances before
the magnificent rebirth.

jesus i didn't realise i was so sad....

bingo !

me thinks you be krekt.

and for those who poopoo the daleks, suffer. they were never wiped out in the
original series, why should they be now. dr. who and no daleks is like ... sci
fi shows without stargate sg1..

a sad eventuation.

and for the noob, his new peice of tail, she sure is rather spicey, oyster sauce
and red hot chillis on a hot baked chicken breast, if you ask me... cant ever go
wrong sucking on those ingredients.. and id suck on her flavoured breasts no dramas.
