why is it the second somebody makes a tv show related to normal people becoming superheroes, people automatically jump to the conclusion its a rip off of heroes? can i just make a point - painkiller jane went into production long before heroes even premiered, so how could they copy? in an interview with the creator of the comics, jimmy palmiotti actually he said if anything is a rip-off of a character between these two franchises, claire bennett in heroes is the rip-off of jane. jane has been around since 1997. could have easily got the idea from the jane comics? not saying they did - but if you wanna accuse people of copying, best you have all the facts. the interview is at h ttp://www.painkiller-jane.com |

i like the show, and will even mark it in my work calender so i never miss it... and for the people that just said it was a rip off, everything today is a rip of. you can trace most stories, way back. vampires, zombies and so on. there are plenty of movies about them, why you mentioned "heroes" is proboly that you started to watch it just because they advertise it every where?... |

kuri, i'm sure the original pilot was quite different especially the casting, which is mainly what i was referring to in my first post. the pilot was 2005, why do you think it's been picked up for a whole series now? i mean are you really that naive? there is no denying heroes is obviously a massively successful show. networks want shows which they can guarantee will be popular. scifi ceo thinks: "heroes is popular, let's find something similar!" it happens in the music industry all the time, a band becomes successful then 5 more very similar bands instantly appear. means the company has to take less of a gamble with its limited resources. this is the way the capitalist world works. it sucks, but it's not up for debate. deznaj, i don't remember calling heroes 'the original' or even implying it, and i don't see where anyone else said it either. which pretty much negates the whole of your post. maybe ripoff was the wrong word to use. all i meant was that upon comparing this show to heroes and other similar shows. this show falls extremely short of the mark, in almost every respect. first search on google found this article: http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/779/779781p1.html |
