i watched the preair that was on a few months back.
wasn't too bad, don't think i'll bother though.
stars jeff goldblum
in this drama from nbc universal television, lapd detective michael raines has
the ability to have detailed conversations with deceased crime victims but by
only using his imagination. this unique "talent" allows him to retrace the
steps leading up to their murders and helps him to solve the cases. although he
also must also deal with the apparition of his dead partner, raines won't stop
until each killer is found and brought to justice.
i thought it was pretty good. more original than i was expecting -- the
manner in which he developed a relationship with the victim was interestingly
done, and it didn\'t hurt that this first victim was sympathetic, and fairly
complex. the hallucinated victim aspect turned out to be more than a gimmick,
she was basically the costar. i liked his old partner too (a recurring
character.) i also like that it\'s a crime drama which wasn\'t gory or scary,
and which focused on character.
that said, i wouldn\'t call it \"awesome\" yet. the pace was a little slow,
and
some of the guest characters were too stereotypical. but it was interesting
enough that i plan to watch next week.
anyway, thanks for the torrent. i watched it on tv last night, but i\'d like
to see it again. i wasn\'t paying very close attention at first, but it grew
on me as it went.
saw this show last night, i loved it. i thought the writing and acting was
great. jeff goldblum is fantastic in this. and he isn't talking to ghosts.
their hallucinations. one of the characters in dirt (who's pschizofrenic)
deals with the same sort of thing. he routinely has active relationships with
people not there. in the pilot (of raines) they mention the fact that he
always spoke to the victims, but before they were more in his head than in
front of him. i don't want to give anything away but there's an item from his
recent past that they mention near the end that may have been the impetus for
all these hallucinations. i frankly can't wait to see more, and i don't have
to give up watching anything else because thanks to eztv i can download it and
watch it at my own convience. thank-you eztv!
