is this any good?
actually nvm ill find out myself, though with series like 'the transporter' getting greenlit on high
budget i'm
almost afraid it would be as dreadfully boring.
<reserve room for upcoming review>
there's no way the transporter show has a high budget, not unless most of it is going up the cast
and crews nose
side note: just reading wikipedia re transporter tv show...has a budget $43 million/30 mill euro
for 12 eps. that's ~$3.5 mill per ep. now i dunno if that is a lot? it seems like a lot? i dare say
they're not paying the actors too much ๐
i thought this was wicked good. the cinematography was excellent, the acting/casting is pretty solid and
the story-line is really interesting. i can see where some of it is going, but the over all picture is
obscured just enough to keep it suspenseful. i can't wait to see more!
first off, the first episode of utopia was some excellent tv. great looking, well acted, smoothly
paced and intriguingly written. it reminded me of a guy ritchie film in places. well worth the 59
minutes of it's run time.
secondly, the transporter was a joint french and canadian production and has nothing to do with
any of the people, producers, actors, writers or networks responsible for utopia as far as i know.
conflating the two is pointless. because one show in one country is greenlit with a supposedly
over-inflated budget, is no reason to judge a completely different show from a completely
different country in the same light. it's like saying transformers was a huge budget spectacle that
disappointed so i won't go and see the next british indie film that comes out.
thirdly, though off topic, on the point of the transporters budget: the concept of the show means
that it must cost an absolute mint to produce. there's very little chance to use the same sets at
all, let alone in the same episode, which is a way shows save on production budgets. the whole
thing is shot on location, often featuring moving vehicles and elaborate action scenes. it isn't
exactly two and a half men. they did pretty well with their budget considering.
what the fug!? this was out of it tv. fantastic first episode. cinematography was amazing. great
tone and feel to the show. looking forward to seeing where this will go.

just watch it, it looks cheap as fk. the whole first season is already out on bd in german, dunno
why it aired in germany first but there you go.
it5's hard to believe that this is made by the same ppl that make strike back, pretty much the best
action series on tv. i thought it (transporter) would be awesome because of that connection but
alas... no
