on the first ep of s3 people were asking this, apparently universal hd is in the middle of re-runs of season
2, so they might start straight in on s3, which would mean hdtv rips, otherwise sky will start showing it in
january time, and that'll mean pdtv rips, that's my understanding of it all anyway
higher quality? ... oh, you mean this is not good enough? like, seeing the
smooth picture, hearing every word and sound f/x is not high enough?
kids, ... tsk, tsk, tsk, ... if it ain't blowing up, being shot to pieces or has
a big flashing sign it ain't 'higher quality'. hitchcock should be doing bsg.
there was a director that knew the quality of viewers immagination is the
ultimate f/x machine.
pfff, what bs can you produce. compared to other series bsg is unfortunately
delivered in poor quality. hd really does add something to the experience. i
really appreciate the work eztv does to deliver us this show, so my comments
are not directed at them but at the broadcaster.
i've had the privilidge to view s2 in true 720p with 5.1 and it was truely
awesome. so in my opinion your post is bs.
... ahhh, yes. the "if it ain't in a beautiful box, it ain't worth buying"
argument. by all means, you should wait for hrhd version. since this one is just
tv-rip. god forbid that you might actually have to look at a non-hd picture. or
listen to non-5.1 sound. what would the world come to if you had to watch
something like that. for free. at your own leisure. commfy in your chair/couch/bed.
the bsg main attribute is its story. it has sense in it, some reference from
real life and compelling characters. and actors that can act.
watching a tv show for its f/x or nice picture and sound is like driving a car
because the wheels are spinning and you have a radio/mp3 player in it.
and "opinions are like assholes. everyone has one." the proverb goes. (sept for
angels, they have no anus so they can't have an asshole. saw that in dogma) ;-)
there's nothing wrong with wanting better quality. i would like it if scifi
aired in hdtv as well because i have an appreciation for better quality video
and audio. that doesn't mean i don't have an appreciation for the story or the
acting. they don't have to be mutually exclusive.
well, you can tell the difference, if you watch it on your pc-monitor and not on
tv, but noone would get me to wait a few month only so i can watch it in hdtv.
by the way, isn't bsg supposed to be released on hd-dvd? next year?
you can absolutely see the difference on a projector. thing is, you want to sit
away from the screen by a good 15 feet, so the difference isn't as hugely
perceptable. it's still there, though, absolutely no doubt about it. sharp
objects which were formally a blur are very distinct and noticable. it's crazy.
long live hd.
