thanks, guess i'll have to start using piratebay instead of eztv ☹️ too bad since i like the layout
here and the show lists etc. but that's all useless if they aren't posting avi's anymore
2hd have done avi of grimm, fringe and clone wars. they and *fqm* are two groups still doing xvid
but others still are as well.
does mean they have a higher workload between them though as fewer groups doing just as many shows
so need to be patient and not get concerned when the x264 comes out (they encode in about 2/3 the
time so are *almost* always going to be released before the avi.
it is possible though that some shows will come out in one format and not the other so it's worth
looking into conversion or alternate ways to play the files.
fqm and 2hd are the only two 'big name / big volume' groups stil doing xvid. and at this rate, they
will probably burn out if they try to do all the shows themselves.
i doubt the dual formats will last for long. you'll save yourself a headache later if you look into options
to play x264 now.. rather than waiting until xvid disappears.
before complaining, always remember we get this stuff for free. if the guys who cap the shows (the
scene) want to change the rules... they are more than entitled to do so.
ok guys,
i"m going to give you some links.
between using them and pirate bay you should never have an issue with releases.
http://www.orlydb.com/s/tv-xvid
use that to find your x-vid avi. that will give you the scene name for the release.
assuming it hasn't been nuked on orly. copy and paste that file name into a piratebay search.
only get files from "trusted" "vip" sources on piratebay. (they have skulls next to their names).
for those asking why they don't do both, if eztv super seeded both releases it would add at 60% more
bandwidth to what they currently do. which (considering its free) is more than i would ask of them.
the times seem to be changing. i'm sure in 6 months things will look a lot different to what they
are now.
for those who on-supply their downloads to others. "winavi all in one converter" is an easy no
frills video converter.
i just want to remind everyone that in the scheme of things we (peer to peer) are the plankton in
the ocean as far as the sharks (scene groups) are concerned. they will never care what we say / do.
(indeed most of them see us as parasites)
so embrace the change, adapt as darwin would want you to.
i know it is hard / painful / expensive but it looks like the writing might be on the wall.
so use the links (they are accurate 95% of the time)

if that's the reason then eztv should only super seed the avi since that is the format that works
for everyone while the other only works for a small %
@korthas: update your 360 then because these files can play on the 360 just fine.
@nannyjanny: because it's better, when they started releasing avi-xvid files basically nothing supported
playing them besides computers. players only got support for that standard because of consumer
demand for the format which largerly exsisted because of scene releases.
the problem is that i watch these through my 360 connected to my big screen and the
x264 files will
not even show up in the play list.
everything plays xvid. mp4... not so much
put the files you want on a usb and plug it in your xbox. assuming you have current dashboard, go to
videos ~ my videos ~ video player and select your usb (should show up under portable devices) and
the files will be listed there.
