it's pretty bad.

they made this pompous announcement over a year ago how spielberg is making a new tv show... well it
sucks honestly.

there's too much drama.
the fuxing annoying family drama, father protects a child, he gets busted, wife helps him escape, he
comes back, sun rebels blablabla.

then there's like this tribe that split from the main one and are like fighting for nothing apparently.
then there's random dinosaurs that are made really bad, full of obvious movie mistakes.

and not to mention it's that shit with "you were a cop and rebelled".

watched it with difficulty cause i was hoping it'd be good. s1e01 was first and last part for me. no thanks.

i thought it was pretty awesome actually.
not only is it fictional drama it is also a brilliant prospect of where we are going as a species.
destroying the planet and portraying a hypothetical second chance at life for the humans is probably a utopian view
compared to our dire prospect. the excess drama does leave you guessing where the plan on going with this but they
have my vote.

high production value, good enough acting and endless storylines to milk out. sign me up.

p.s.
dinosaurs are a vital element in the story, maybe they're flawed in 720p but it looks real enough for me... those
slashers scare the crap outta me.

well, this seems like another sci-fi show that won't last for more than a season or two. as usual.
too bad, because frankly i'm sick and tired of being left with unresolved shows because they are
being axed left, right and center. in particular sci-fi shows. since the star trek era only a few
handful of sci-fi shows has reached any form of conclusion. which is a real bummer for a sci-fi buff
like me.

same cranky and winy bs comments.

how come we see the same god damn winy comments on every single tv show on this forum, nothing is
ever good enough for your people, everything is horrible and bad... and yet... you will continue to
watch it... *shakes head*

i'm getting the feeling that there is nothing wrong with the shows, the issues are in you people.

"obvious movie mistakes" is a matter of perspective and, in most cases, people being narrow-minded,
even using faulty logic.

i have had many passionated arguments with friends about "what is realistic" in movies, and i
honestly don't think people understand what realism involves in the real world.

one thing people seems to have a hard time understand is concepts like "person is in chock" and any
irrational behavior it might give, it seems to me that loads of "bad acting" is merely peoples lack
of understanding and ignorance.

i think most of the people complaining about bad acting and such, are simply very young minded
people who simply lack life experience.

it makes me wonder sometimes, i have a rather different personality than most people... and if
someone where to secretly record me without my knowledge, people would still make the conclusion
from watching the movie, that i was a bad actor due to the fact that "nobody behaves like that guy"

i personally liked this episode, not the best pilot ever, but it seems very promising.

and it would be highly unfair to judge a whole show from one episode alone, some shows take some
time to find them self, and there are plenty of good shows that made a weak impression in the beginning.

i suppose something could be salvaged, provided that in the next few episodes they can patch up some
of the gaping plot holes. i'm not holding out much hope though, i don't think they'll have time.
this kind of show is expensive and has to be a hit. elsewise, fox network will sabotage it so they'll
have an excuse to cancel. they've done it before. steven spielberg's name won't be enough to save it
either, it doesn't live up to spielberg's usual standard - even the special effects weren't very
good. some of those dinosaurs were almost embarrassing.

i could be wrong though, i didn't think falling skies had a chance either but people loved it. i
still don't know why. it suffers many of the same problems as terra nova. apparently, if you throw
enough sappy dialog and insincere human drama into a show, it's not necessary that the plot actually
make sense.

i thought it was better than expected and better than most of the new shows of this season.

i was expecting a bad series, because of the huge disappointment with falling skies, but i think it
was a decent show. at least, it kept me watching until the end.

sure, there are some cliches, but i think this series can survive the cancellation festival of this
season. it is a promising show.

btw, the uniforms are ridiculous.

it is entirely cliche and just as bad as the first few reviews said. if you're from the year 21xx
and have the tech to open up a ... wormhole, or whatever they're using to get to the past at will,
then you have the tech to send weapons that kill dinosaurs with a single shot, no ifs, ands, or
buts. the dinosaurs are simply silly; why didn't any of those kids die? they all should have,
multiple times, but instead we just get a gnawed-up leg (the dino should have bitten the thing clean
off) and a few scratches across the chest (instead of severed body parts). and the drama, oh jees,
you could find this stuff in a $3 paperback (not that you kids know what a paperback is anymore).
snooore.

i love sci fi series so i really hope this is not yet another one-season-show like "flash forward",
"the event", "stargate universe" (second season) and sadly so many others.

acting is average (not too good but not too bad either). i believe it is too early to tell whether
there are gaps in the plot or not. the general idea looks ok to me so far. i imagine that producing
credible dinosaurs is not-so-cheap (specially for a series) so i don't think we'll be seeing a big
improvement in that regard but that is also ok. however, i know that this is just a pilot but i
really don't like when they make silly mistakes like:

-they have a fairly sophisticated security system but they don't detect an escaped convict using his
own id?
-bullets making sparks when they hit a dinosaur? come on ... if you want to "show an effect" in the
flesh but you can't because it is too dark, why not using tracer rounds for example? at least it
wouldn't look so bad and it is simply enough ...
-what seemed to be a carnotaur feasts with your leg and you only get a scratch?

i hope the show improves overtime and doesn't get cancelled.

regards

oh dear more people who jump on the abuse the program after one whole episode.

seriously you complain about the kids with machine guns, they are from the future you know, you dont
find out to much about society i the first episode, so dont think you know what was going on, kids
on terra nova by the looks of thing need guns you tool, or did you miss the whole dino attacking
people part.

wheres the weapons thing, you missed the sonic sound guns didnt you ? you know the ones similar to
the ones in the 2nd hulk film, we dont know wherver they can make them into hand guns now do we.
again shut up.

wheres the vechiles...erm did you watch the program? i think not if your asking that.

to much drama? so you would prefer no storyline at all, no sense of purpose to it?

-they have a fairly sophisticated security system but they don't detect an escaped convict using his
own id? ....erm seriously you ever heard of a forgery, as security systems upgrade so the the
forgeries ? another b.s comment destroyed.

-bullets making sparks when they hit a dinosaur? come on ... if you want to "show an effect" in the
flesh but you can't because it is too dark, why not using tracer rounds for example? at least it
wouldn't look so bad and it is simply enough ...
do you know how hard dino flesh / armour is? no shut up, do you know what future bullets will be
made out of, no so shut up.

who ever it was that said the other group split off for no reason, watch the ending again

give the series a chance..let it build up, 99% of all series start off slow nowadays, then they get
better as they go along

1-maybe you can explain at what point he got the forgeries? no? the system not only scanned the id.
it also matched it with a retinal scan and the database. at what point did he switch he's eyeballs?
anything? no? did he also hacked the database? maybe i missed that part? shut up ...

2-you comment is just ridiculous. did you ever watched a documentary about dinosaurs? they were
carnotaurus (mentioned in the episode or didn't you hear it?) carnotaurus don't have armored
flesh/bones. if you're going to make a series about/with dinosaurs then you should at least do some
research about them first so shut up ...

what you said doesn't justify anything. yes, it is true. it is the first episode, so what? does that
meant that it can be a crappy production? not so good acting for a first episode is ok. some other
minor issue are also ok. many good series also had not so good starts. however, bullets making
sparks when hitting a dinosaur makes a crappy production as it only requires common sense to see
that it is just stupid.

before you continue saying that these are bs comments you should review your own.

he cut a tracer thing out of his leg at the start which could have been his prison id.

either way minor annoyances aside the show was not bad, i kinda wish that they spent alot longer on the
first part i just don't like how in the first 8 mins we go from sentenced to prison to breakout and on the way
to a new planet.

i know this is coming but i am not sure how much they are going to pile on .... teenage angst ...whats
worse that they have two of them and a little one.. why can't parents have nice children that just stay in
doors and play video games instead of being dino bait.

just a guess but.......maybe pay someone to assign your retinal scan to a different pass with a
different name, but the same photo so i doesnt flag maybe. think it through, as seen as they paid
soeone to hold the package in a secured are, i see as phesable.
