it's 1956 and a new topical news program is about to be launched on the bbc. the six-part drama
(written by abi morgan) takes you behind-the-scenes as a passionate love triangle develops in the
newsroom.

what point would that be?

brand new television program, very favourably previewed in the uk and he said to 'fuck this shit
off'. surely torrents like this are what eztv is all about. we don't all want 20th season generic
cop/lawyer shows, we could visit here to widen our television horizons.

then again i could be wrong.

ok, so his syntax and grammar are atrocious, but it sure looks to me like he was just light-heartedly saying it was a fairly
boring, unexciting premise for a show. i mean, seriously, does "takes you behind-the-scenes as a passionate love triangle
develops in the newsroom" (much less being in 1956) really get either your adrenalin or cerebral cortex revving? woof. i
find that just as tedious as the aforementioned '20th season generic cop/lawyer shows'.

let's see, if i had my druthers, what would trip my trigger? hmmm...

--singing pirates.
--a drama concerning the first civilian moon colony.
--a new spy show where the hero drinks a lot, drills lots of uber-babes, and shoots tons of bad guys, all while cracking
really witty jokes.
--the adventures of the world's first transgendered amish p.i.
--"vigilante force!"
--"holy shit!" (the wacky misadventures of two lesbians that work down in the vatican's archives. maybe they solve
mysteries or something. either that or just a half hour of them making out.)

yeah, that'd do it for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

quick! someone send these ideas to syfy so they can waste millions of dollars to produce a
season (of each of idea), so they can almost immediately cancel them, after showing three
episodes!

sounds like a plan to me! ๐Ÿ™‚ ...or normal programming for syfy?

have you seen it yet?

have you retrieved your arse out of each others backsides?

have you finished congratulating each other on your fantastically witty responses?

this forum needs to be switched off. no forum for discussion, just abuse.

no debate, might is right. it is wasted on you.

are you mental or something, or just a blind hypocrite that can't read subtext?

i offered a polite rebuttal to your original assumption, regarding both the poster's intent and the "entertainment value" of
the show itself as inferred from the description. i even added a little slightly sardonic humor just for the fun of it.

and darned if people didn't enjoy it and begin playing along, --that is until you returned and discovered that somebody
didn't agree with you, and instead of discussing it further, you simply ignored the "debate," with no respect for anyone
else's opinion, pissed in the punchbowl, and proceeded to enact a one-man rendition of the last gasp of henry the douche,
act six.

then, to top it all off, you've got the unmitigated gall to tell us that we're being forceful, abusive, and unwilling to
debate?

i'm not even going to say the obvious now. i think everything speaks for itself quite well.

i too thought the subtext a good laugh btw cthulhu. the show itself was much better than the thread
seemed to suggest. in the end though i doubt i would've downloaded it at all except for this
thread. so thanks guys.

its that wonderful, slow, period soapyish thing the brits do so well. not for those with a short
attention span i suspect. but if you like your stories to have depth, unfold slowly and steeped in
intrigue, then definitely worth a watch.
