he can't do that now can he, they cancelled it!

and good! now we can spend more time watching dancing shows, wrestling, cooking shows, and all the
good stuff we're supposed to be interested in.

not this half-arsed soppy pseudo science-drama about boring things like boring old space and boring
old space ships and boring old aliens. boring.

who needs it. let's watch people who read the news dsancing on stage or lets all watch large greasy
men grabbing each other in the ring, or god knows i need to know how haley will make that succulent
upside down cherry chocolate and jam cake.... ohhh!!!

to prepare for this new stage in television life, i'm going to bash my face into a woman's day
magazine and force myself to read the gossip section until i pass out.

im thinking ill just spend less hour per week watching tv. if they didn't want me to stop watching i
assume they'd stop cancelling my shows.

*this is my opinion

star-trek: good but old and never enough borg.
star wars: good but gimme a break spielberg lucas or what ever.
stargate sg1 with macguyver: let the guy spend is money before he becomes an elderly citizen. lol
stargate sg1 without macguyver: was good but its gone now to bad. :-(
stargate atlantis: had potential but that doctor chick wrecked it for me.

sgu: sgu sgu seriously was the best thing sci-fi had going a cross between voyger and stargate with
hot chicks oh and great actors ;-d

thank you to the cast and crew.
does anyone got a spare 20-40 million to keep it going???

truly a pity audiences are now too moronic to understand simple basics of story structure and are geared
to be negative toward new shows out of bitterness of old ones running their course and coming to a close.
for people that complain about soap opera back story you all are the pussiest lil dramaqueens going about.

be honest you buy anything with electrolytes in it
idiocracy at it's finest.
there really are plenty of fictional war stories for the military inclined on the history channel if you want
them and ridiculous doomsday predictions on discovery and conceptual garbage, have at it.
please go there and quit whining every time yet still watching the shows you utter zombies.

so this was it ... too bad since in my humble opinion, sgu really became interesting over the last
episodes. i'm feeling truly sad after having watched this final episode.

too bad that someone screwed up the show's start, too ... i mean, i get it ... being in a situation
like that makes you focus on the very basic needs (hence simple episode titles like air) of human
life but the production crew made sgu move at the pace of a giant turtle right from the start.

open romance is something that seldomly works in a tv show ... you can surely create tension between
main characters but putting them in a steady relationship right from the start is something that has
never worked on scifi, crime or action shows.

at least they put together a decent ending ... and also left themselves an opportunity for a relaunch.

they screwed up this show almost from the beginning with the silly love triangle and the ridiculous
personal side-stories. they lost track of the fact that this was supposed to be a sci-fi show. it's a
shame.

by the time it was too late, they got back on track in order to sum everything up for tonight's show,
which made the last 8 episodes much better.

perhaps now, with the storyline back on track, they will re-write a new series based upon the
characters who were truly interesting and scientific (rush, eli, and greer for his decisiveness). they
can do it if they want to.

the problem is that this is from an nbc affiliate (syfy) and nbc never goes back on anything, not even
the original star trek cancellation in 1966.

i had to register just so i could respond to this.. i have to disagree about this show being screwed
from the beginning, this is one is the first one syfy got right.. they basically took the awesome
idea that the original movie put forth and sg-1 and atlantis built on but removed the campyness that
those series infused. this show had a believability to it that the others just couldn't match. i
think sci-fi fans have become so accustomed to cheesy storylines and low budget production value
that anything with a real feel to it just doesn't grab them, that's why shows like eureka, while
entertaining, continue while shows like sgu and caprica are sent packing.

oh, ant the reason i quoted this post is to rebut the last line "the problem is that this is from an
nbc affiliate (syfy) and nbc never goes back on anything, not even the original star trek
cancellation in 1966." sorry but, star trek the motion picture was originally supposed to be a
reboot of the 60's series called "star trek - phase ii" but at some point it was decided to just use
the budget they had gotten for the season and make a theatrical film instead.

as fans of stargate, we should all hope that season 2 dvd sales will justify the production of some
tv movies.

i already bought season 1 when it became available where i live.

after i watch this last eps i'll post one or two idea's they maybe could have used if i got the time.

please don't,

feel free to do it in the spoiler thread

not to worry i won't be putting anything atm

i'm annoyed its done, because it just got better as it went on. after the first ep of s2 i was a bit meh about
it, but the last 5 or 6 have surpassed anything the sg universe has previously churned out.

i know there was a movie planned to wrap it up, but it's not gonna happen as far as i can see due to 'time
restraints' whatever that means.. really good dvd sales might turn that about. i wont be holding my
breath for it though.

the premature end of another potentially great series, thanks to outdated ways of viewer calculation.

this was supposed to be a sci-fi show

you have a ridiculously limited idea of what sci-fi is. it's that sort of thinking that gets all
these awesome shows killed off in the first place.

yup, i guess so. i don't need to know if someone is a lesbian or if mommy didn't treat them right when
they were an infant. that's what programs like "desperate housewives" and "law and order" are for.

i'm watching sci-fi for science theory and fact.

did you really just say you watch science *fiction* for theory and fact? lol

you guys know what i really miss in 2days shows? robots! not the clumsy kind but something a lot
more asimovian like from the "caves of steel" and such novels. talking, intelligent, wellmeaning,
crimesolving robots with the original three laws. i really think the philosphy from that era could work.
