i'm pretty sure aussies would have a problem with the 700mb release instead of a
350mb with the bloody download quota there. having a download cap of 4 gigs a
month easily makes this a pain.

other than that, i personally don't mind the double-size better quality rip.

you people are going to be the death of torrents, always insisting that you get
the best possible quality, which means the studios have no insentive to make
desired tv because they aren't going to make money.

ding dong!

hear that? it's the bells tolling the death of torrents.

not to say that the majority of torrent users worldwide will end up alienated
with these absurd 700mb files, which will make a lot easier for the intellectual
property rights people to hunt down the remaining users who think they're so
smart...

see this he where you 'hd version' people really suck... these
torrented eps are
only really meant to be available so that we can see the episode. to have an
hd
version of if for archieving is just plain greedy, and you are doing the
studios
out of the profit that they need in order to make the series in the first
place.

700 mb hd file should not be available for download, if you want that then you
should have to wait for it to show on your channel or go bloody buy the thing.

hd versions are a 'special' version... you want special? go buy.

jesus, if you own hd equipment you'd think that you would have the money to
buy
your own, but you lot are more a bunch of cheapskates than those without the
cash.

i want, i want, i want.... well i hope that because you are online twice as
long
you all are twice as likely to get caught.

cheapskates.

i would but 'unfortunately' it's unavailble for purchase until late next year.

4gigs? who told you that? some isp's have up to 60gig of bandwidth...

why are some of you bitching?
it's not eztv's fault when the regular 350mb hasn't been released!
is someone holding a gun to your head forcing you to download this 700mb hr release?
if not, quit with the whining and stay away from this thread!!
thank you & merry x'mas eztv

jeez i am lucky to be in switzerland and get adsl 3500/300 (ok not the best for
seeding but...) and no limit whatsoever for us$ 57/month (actual conversion
rate) and in may case is paid by my employer...
[/ quote]

i live in greece, where we did not have any dsl at all up to 2 years ago.
now i pay 11 euros (14.5$)/month for 2048/256 unlimited ;-). that's progress!

i still prefer the 350 versions though for 2 reasons:
1. downloading 4-5 episodes per day quickly saturates even the 2048 line real
fast.
2. anything wider than 640 does not play on my x-card and on my stand-alones.
so i have to wath on my 19 inch monitor instead of my 33 inch tv! that sucks.

i'm looking for a 350mb version of the file too. the last mininova link pointed
to a private tracker which bans azureus and wants utorrent. there's no utorrent
version for linux and i'm not "downgrading" to windows any time soon. that
torrent got deleted from mininova anyway.

i like the show so i took the liberty of registering on their site and
downloaded the recode at 279kbytes/s with peak speeds up to 1mbyte/s. for now
that's the only option i have as my hardware can't play the hr version without
the sound running out of sync. i'll be upgrading soon though and welcome the
added quality of the ~700mb files. the quality difference is significant
especially on a large monitor.

anyone have an idea on how to make azureus say it's utorrent?
[#9274] Written by: Krill [19/12/2006, 14:42]
i must agree with jcdenton, i prefer better quality than worse. also i am just
glad that i don't have to wait so long before the rest of the new episodes of
the seasons are aired
