Well, you're gonna have to download the 1080p copy provided by ETHEL, if you want the best quality; minus the letterboxing. You
can always re-encode it yourself using www.handbrake.fr after it's finished downloading, if your adamant about it being 720p:

The ETHEL link shows 1920x1080. That will also be letterboxed.

It would have to be 1920x800 to avoid the letterboxing.

I'd personally much rather have the subtitles remain in the black bars and I wish every release was like this, but to each; their own.
You're just gonna have to wait for a different copy to show up from a different source, as it is painfully obvious that these all came
from ETHEL and have been converted down by other release groups. Every file is letterboxed, so you're either just gonna have to
accept that and wait; or change it yourself, using the cropping tool in HandBrake 😉 www.handbrake.fr

I see now that the ETHEL upload is the source of the problem, with the 1920x1080 letterbox. The top and bottom 140px are black bars.

So the other sources just followed the flawed ETHEL upload.

Every time I download Never Mind The Buzzc.o.cks they're always 4:3 aspect ratio.
I have to convert them to 16:9 so everyone doesn't look like they're skinny.
Apparently Handbrake can do the conversion really easily.

I'm using DNLA to play it on my TV. I don't have options to change aspect ratio.
So I have to reencode it. Native is 4:3 for some reason.

The resolutions posted here are often incorrect and can't be used to determine the actual resolution of the cap.

For example this ETHEL page states 1920x1080 when the actual download is 1920x800.

Compared to this page that states the same 1920x1080 and the actual is also 1920x1080.

I think the site just sees "1080p" in the description and assumes it must be 1920x1080 16:9 without verifying the contents. The same for "720p".

A "720p" cap might be 960x720, 1280x720 or 1728x720, good luck guessing what it is before downloading.

So I reencode the file the way file it was supposed to be.
