this is not me being snarky; this is me asking an honest question. if i hated
dr. who and robin hood, am i likely to hate this?

it's a good enough show based on the first episode. i would say it\'s more aimed
at harry potter, maybe lotr teen posters rather than adults though. that's not
to say adults wouldn't enjoy it. i did. interesting note for me but not for
most, colin morgan (i.e. merlin) is from northern ireland...

to the poster who asked about the hating dr who and robin hood thing...i would
tend to say yes. maybe you won't but if they're not your cup of tea then this
probably won't. it's more alike to robin hood than either of them.

btw, i don't think it's airing in the us until next year?

well, i've seen worse imo and shows i consider much worse rate very well in the
us so it should do alright, especially with younger audiences (or the young at
heart ;d ).

it's an interesting point of view to the arthurian legends, especially given
that the average person knows how certain relationships will turn out and the
situation presented in the first episode is almost the opposite.

and getting john hurt to voice the great dragon is very good... he's always been
partial to that kinda role.

michelle ryan (bionic woman, jekyll) is credited as nimueh but i don't recall
seeing her - will have to rewatch it, though she may not have appeared in this
episode.

almost forgot (forty lashes for me) anthony head as uther is way cool too!!

really quite good.

story was tight. great cast. dialogue was sharp and concise, unlike a lot of
fantasy stuff. they didn't try to do too much. that's where a lot of fantasy on
tv goes wrong.

it's simple (in the good way) and charming.

nbc will start airing this mid season in the u.s.
but what are the odds that it'll be uncut? (the answer is slim.)

thanks. i'll definitely be watching this now.
