ok this is nit picking... but they are companions... not assistants...
assistants to me implies that they work for the doctor... they don't work for
him... they are around for the sweet ride...
and i can't remember who said it but billie piper is the best because she was
the first of the new series... i've gone back and watched the old ones since the
new series came out and billie piper is by far one of the better companions...
and now for the real reason she was the best... she singlehandedly killed the
entire dalek race (excluding the arc daleks) what other companion has done
anything near that?
i'm with dj pigg on this one i've seen a lot of doctor who in my
life and i think catherine tate is by for the worst assistant of them all. but
i hate martha jones more, she goes from doctor to soldier what the hell is up
with that. and wasn't second season in the two parter where the cybermen travel
from the other dimension. she was the black chick that was one of the first to
be taken over. hell i wish kylie monique would have been the new assistant and
she's a hell of lot hotter then tate. okay done with this rant.
for someone who has seen a lot of doctor who in your life, you don't think
outside your little box much, do you?
firstly, martha went from "medical student" (not doctor) to "medical officer"
with u.n.i.t. she showed her worth in being "promoted" to u.n.i.t. when she
helped defeat the master by traveling the world on her own. so she totally
deserves to work for u.n.i.t.
secondly, if you actually listened to the characters and what they say, you
would have heard martha recall to the doctor the her cousin adeola worked for
torchwood at canary wharf and then disappeared. sure, adeola was played by the
same actress but that's how she landed the companion gig. never has it been said
or perceived that adeola and martha were one and the same person.
thirdly, as per a previous post, learn to actually spell peoples names if you
want to talk about them. just goes to show how unintelligent and illiterate you
really are.
