god, some people really are overly sensitive about that stuff...
i'll miss the wire too, it really is one of the best and also one of the most
underrated (by the numbers of viewership, not critically) tv-shows ever.
but honestly: it was time for the show to end. what could possibly have happened
in the next season that would be interesting and original? barksdale coming
back? yet another new drug-boss in the western district? following a different
ethnic crime group?
it's good that the wire gets to finish before it start to suck imo.
great wrap-up for the final episode ... the whole series left me with the
impression that in america everything is up for sale, the drugs in the streets,
the cops, the lawyers, the politicians in city hall, even the media weren\'t
left unscathed. some great writing with a fitting ending to a great tv show.
don\'t miss this last episode.
many thanks to those dedicated few who capped, uploaded and seeded this series;
your efforts were and are appreciated.
as a matter of personal preference i rarely watch us television, however
something about this show caught my interest and kept hold. as one who worked
in/near baltimore for years i never saw the streets and city in this way.
usually it was high above 'charm city' in a corporate office or though the eyes
of john waters films. a new perspective was gained, and the series left an
indelible impression.; for that i offer thanks. while it's a shame to see it
go, i am inclined to agree with my peers who felt it was "the wire's" time.
as various pundits have written, "a great way to be remembered is to go out on
top, or leave people wanting more. it leaves a lasting image of success,
admiration and a craving for more."
