also, yes, the sound is fairly bad. completely watchable if your speakers are
loud enough. i had the laptop up as loud as it would go, and even then i would
have to rewind certain parts and really listen to get some of the dialog.
i doubt this would be much of a problem with powered speakers or any other
decent setup. laptop speakers suck to begin with.

i can go to any torrent site and download lost, and get it before its listed here.
however i come here because eztv is a guarantee that the download is going to be
genuine and in the expected quality. isnt that the reason everyone else comes
here too.
when stuff appears here that doesnt comply with the specifications and
standards, then that taints eztv's reputation.
feeback from people that have already downloaded it is important.

i don't think you understand what i was saying.
all i meant was people complaining over the volume being low on the best
torrent available for this episode is a little pathetic, as its much better
than having a severely out-of-synch copy.
eztv have just put up the best version available. i'm sure if the current
version wasn't available, the out-of-synch one would be on here instead.

i agree. i didn't notice a thing wrong with the audio, personally. and my
speakers are definitely crap by standards. <$10 usb powered crap jobs. and i do
have media player classic audio boost up most of the time for other shows, but
didnt even need to for this?!

no offense intended.. but i'm not a complete invalid and am able to tell when
the little knobby thing won't turn anymore. and i must stress, i wasn't
complaining at all, i did indeed say it was perfectly watchable.
someone mentioned torchwood, and that's exactly what this file's like. i have
to turn up my volume all the way for torchwood too.
people read these threads to see how the files are. please don't brush it off
as an id 10t error when people find something that's a little less than par.
we're all big boys and girls. this isn't a mac forum, we can admit faults.
in conclusion. this file is a)perfectly watchable, and b)a very enjoyable
episode. it's just a tad quiet.

no i agree with ya man, because i know what you're saying, but i didn't
personally find the audio low - but my media player is set to up boost the sound
by default. i will re-check the audio from the files with all set to default and
come again, coz every time i've said the volume is low (when i was using
bsplayer or gomplayer, etc not something with an audio
amplification/normalization) i was copping the "clean your ears out ya bum!!"
replies too.
and it would be for 1 video out of the norm, so for me tocrhwood was extremely
low, making me use headphones. the rest were over loud in headphones !

i don't know about you guys but this release isn't as good previous fov
releases, i managed to get the dot release and it is much better.
here's a little summary of what happened :
1. "lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-2hd" was released.
2. "lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-dot" was released.
3. "lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-dot" was nuked for "dupe.2hd.2008-03-07".
4. "lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-2hd" was nuked for "out.of.sync.by.29.minutes".
5. "lost.4x06.the_other_woman.proper.hdtv_xvid-fov" was released.
6. "lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-dot" was unnuked for "2hd.release.out.of.sync".
7. "lost.4x06.the_other_woman.proper.hdtv_xvid-fov" was nuked for
"not.needed.dupe.dot".
in other words, there are three releases and :
"lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-2hd" is not fine (and nuked).
"lost.s04e06.hdtv.xvid-dot" is fine.
"lost.4x06.the_other_woman.proper.hdtv_xvid-fov" is not fine (nuked because of
the second one, bad ar and is also out of sync for a few seconds in minute 31).
and i must stress, i wasn't
