Its gotta make you wonder... where are production studios going so wrong in the modern era???

Used to be that a show, take pretty much any show for example, would pump out enough episodes per season for 6
months worth of weekly episodes. Im talking maybe 26 episodes per season. 2 X 26 = 52 , the number of weeks in
a year. And that was nearly every show, no matter the genre or studio producing. Anything less was viewed as not
worth bothering with. Or it had longer episodes more movie-like in length, to alleviate the lesser number of
episodes i.e. a mini-series. Everything now seems to be 10 episodes a season. Did some executive not know how
to work an abacus so we're are stuck with decimals and round numbers? So many seasons now are six episodes!
And here we are with the season come to a grinding halt on the 4th episode.

Love the show. Love uploader MeGusta's work. For me it's like next generation moving on from my former
preferred uploader ION10 , because its concise and has subtitles. Cheers.

But back to my theme... Its got to the point that the investment of time and emotion of viewing such miniscule
seasons of shows has come to be hardly worth it. The story just gets going then ends. You just get to have a feel
for characters when they slip through your fingers. Its like a one night stand vs a courtship, perhaps symptomatic of
where the execs are at in their lifestyles. The viewer forms no deep relationship to the show. Its over so fast, and
it is soooo long until it resumes (if it maybe does, or not) that it is forgotten, like wind blown dust filling the
footsteps behind the desert trekker. There's no turning back. Every show you watch you have to re-watch to
remember what the hell happened prior to the next season. I don't want to re-watch a show that I never developed
feelings for because it equated to a one night stand. Life is too short. So one moves on to a different show. There
is always something new.

But almost all fall victim to this hollow short lifespan thing. Vs a show that filled your life and you watched night
after night or week after week, until you might as well have been one of the actors in it. You had feelings for it and
you remembered what happened and you didn't have to re-watch as a neccessity before the next season. And you
were loyal to the show and waited patiently a respectful standard amount of time til next season. You weren't fickle.
Because the show respected the nature of the human viewer. These 4 episode pathetic offerings are a middle finger
to the viewers. And Im over it. I have more respect for my self, my time, and my life.

How did they manage to punch out 26 episodes you could set your calendar to in the old days of quality viewing and
can barely manage 4 episodes of meh these days. That's a devolution of the standards we are supposed to accept.
It is operating at their maximum capacity to provide a minimum quality content. Its like carrying a lazy work
colleague in any profession. The reigns need to be handed back to people who know what they are doing lest that
golden age be lost forever.

And now I shall go watch something else and to hell with this show

BBC in the UK most shows were relegated to six - eight episodes due to usually only having one writer do the whole season where early american shows had bull pens full of writers pumping out episodes for advertising time.

Now days the use of advertising in commercial breaks is less prevalent and most production houses are looking to cut costs and keep punters coming back for more.
