i have watched the first two episodes and enjoye it enough to download e03.
not necessarily a sterling recommendation, but i really enjoyed the
original "lonesome dove". it was probably due to the fact that cast was star
studded, which this one is not. to me it was interesting to see how things
started based on the fact that i know how things ended. kinda like the "star
wars" films. i must say i was impressed with steve zahn's performance of the
young augustus mccrae. if you saw the original "lonesome dove", you are then
familiar with robert duvall's performance as the older augustus mccrae. in my
opinion, zahn nailed all of the nuances of duvall's portrayal of mccrae.
whew... this sounded way too "movie critic-like". i guess it's just because i
am a fan of the series.

dove, so i expect i will like watching this.
