tracker seems to be working fine for me. just downloading slowly as to be
expected this early on (started at 0.2kb download speed. shockingly slow lol).
ok so i got a question, but first thnx for the u/l..
my question is why cant i d/l super fast most of the time when i have a 20mb
connection.. torrents seem to be slow, i dont cap my u/l which is well over 5mb
max min is usually 500kbs.. thing is why cant i d/l at higher speeds?
again thnx for u/l easily seed this whenever it finishes...
dragon, you need to cap your upload speed to about 85% of your real upload max
speed in your torrent client to get the maximum download speed for your torrent.
just having one torrent run at a time can further enhance it's speed.
doin't use other devices/programs at the same time that eat bandwidth like
online tv/radio/comms either. don't jump on new torrents (less seeds) and there
are other limiting factors like using a client listen port above 47000.
finally a good release by 0tv. quality is good and the encoding is done right. ๐
tracker gave me no problems and the speed was great.
big thumbs up for this great episode.
but i due hope the writers of sga finally make more of these kind of episodes.
big story told over more than one episode.
you can always volunteer to give me another server so i can setup one more
tracker ๐
we had 6 trackers .. 3 from me and 3 from somebody else
the 3 from somebody else went missing and so we put all torrents on my 3
trackers which made them moan under the load...
i still accept donations to run more trackers ( i want to put the attention
that i, slad accepts this, not eztv, for any legal matters. there are donation
buttons if you use the announce url as normal url without
the ':60500/announce')
meanwhile i have taken on a 4th tracker again that i am also paying myself
again.
we hopefully will get a few more servers to put more trackers on but don't
forget, we also have to pay for our servers and bandwidth.
if you cap your u/l at around 80-90% this leave some space for 'handshaking'
what is 'handshaking' ?
imagine 2 computers ...
computer 1 is downloading something from computer 2
computer 1 sends a message (give me!) <= this is handshaking
computer 2 sends a package and waits
computer 1 sends a message (got that send more) <= this is the handshaking
computer 2 sends a package and waits
computer 1 sends a message (got that send more) <= this is the handshaking
so you need some room for the (got that send more) message to get thru
if your upload/upstream is swamped with data the message (got that send more)
may not get thru
