fantastic episode. it is about time as well - season 3 was piss poor and the
2006 xmas special sucked. but i was massively impressed by this episode.

i didn't think it was all that, mainly because the doctor had no chemistry
(rather, it wasn't developed well with her poor side of the script) with kylie.

exactly! in fact this is one of the least interesting episodes in the new
series, just a hodgepodge of stale ideas and generic characters. i liked the
historian though, only character that wasn't a two dimensional cutout.

but ss a forgettable appetizer for season 4 it worked i suppose...

for me one of the least interesting episodes so far, still good though and great
to see so many name actors in it.

i don't know if it's because it's been a while, or too high expectations, or me
being spoiled by other series. but this special was a bad disappointment. it was
totally like a normal episode but worse. i was ashamed for talking people into
coming watch it with me.

the mm xvid version is 100 mbytes smaller. i wonder if the quality
can be really better.
well, i leech both and then i\\\'ll compare.

well, the episode runtime is 72min (this nfo says 70 btw) so that gives mms a
bitrate around 1030 vs 1200kbps but mean while both from a pdtv source and
considering the pre time, i would definitively say they segmented this (which
lowers quality).

personally i\'m just getting neither and downloading the 600mb x264 \"hq edition\"
(ak hr.pdtv) from mm which is much better quality then the xvid even when its at
bigger sizes (550mb hq edition beated a 700mb xvid (past no quality increase
point) for 60min christmas special)

just hope the new series isn't spoiled by the new assistant.

the mm xvid rip is just about the same as this one. i can't tell the
difference, anyways, and the res is the same. the x264 version, as usual is
excellent, and will be the reference encode for my collection.

mad martha's (mm) rips are the best! definitely worth the wait for the higher
encoding, but her basic rips are still top notch every time! mm is the "axxo"
of "doctor who" and "torchwood" (and all related shows)!

a few cheezy parts, but other than that quite brilliant.

i never caught on to the whole allon-s thing, but had a hell of a time
researching it. now i must go back and watch the army of ghosts episode that
introduced it.

not one person has mentioned anything about the story before you
posted.

i got a ho-hum feeling from this episode. i was also led astray by words said on
the
bbc website. i thought daleks were in this one since she said she got to see a
dalek.
perhaps she was just talking about the prop?

kylie still looks great after so many years. i only knew her from back in the 1988
with "come on baby, do the locomotion...".

yeh, there was hinting towards it, since i had no clue about it. it's easy to
get caught up in the gossip with others that have and forget that some people
have not seen/heard anything about it.

so, are you saying we don't see daleks in this episode, afterall? *a hint about
the story.*

so we see a dalek prop? *a hint about the story.*

it's like saying "the best part was what k9 said about rose being dead, at the end!"

meh...

i've now seen the ep, thought it was pretty good, i enjoy this for the cheese
it's known for. and since it's not been a month since the ep aired, i can't
elaborate (you see, i read the rules here).

but one thing, since you mention it.. google kylie with google images (safe
search off). damn shes got the best arse..

(danni's not too shabby either. for a skanky pretty minogue)

and here, we can see the invasive and perplexing gossip-mouse, away from his
native environment.

his red fur shimmering with details, it's hard not to understand what he's
thinking. he's after cheese, and will do anything to obtain it and then gossip
about it.

incorrigible and determined, he will reveal anything as long as it feeds his
desire to gossip, as this what they feed upon in their own natural environment.

one of natures more intriguing creatures, the gossip-mouse, with it's stubby
fingers from extensive typing, bulging eyes to ensure every detail is always
noticed, and most importantly, an incorrigible desire to gossip amongst other
gossip-mice, is a marvelous creature to behold.

yet unfortunately, they remain a pest outside of their natural environment, as
they spreads gossip wherever they go, and can quite literally infect others, who
either die from acute monitor punching, or, sadly, embrace the same nature
as the gossip-mouse and lead on to infect others.

and so, the gossip-mouse is hunted, and at some points to near extinction; but
as prolific and enduring as they are, they swarm the internet nesting in any
warm forum they find, laying their eggs and spreading gossip.

a true plague.

even the commentary [bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/sounds] was sub par this year...
