despite loathing the generic and selfish "thank you" posts which plague
the "popular" shows i have to say a big thank you to theras for the first
sensible and useful first post i've seen in a long while. why can't everyone
do this rather than trying to show their egos by hammering the site and trying
to post "first from whothefuckcares" and screw up the servers :s
yeah i have to agree with you goldec, something about nancy's character this
season has really formed a core dislike of her, and its kind of hard to like
the show when you can't enjoy the main character; even if the other characters
are great.
its interesting how a show that tries so hard to be outside 'mainstream'
demonstrates year in and year out why its on showtime not hbo (no disrespect
intended for dexter lovers, im not sure why that great show is on showtime).
anyways heres the formula for every single episode/season
doug (who was great on snl) pulls some 12 yr old prank that is neither
funny/identifiable/likeable
nancy needs 'protection' from some 'extorter' - changes from season to season
celia - ugly ass woman who gives me hesitancy to hit on any blonde chick i
ever see... if thats what they turn into at least.. ugh
hmm who else.. oh conrad and the black guy on white girl sex. tryin to push
some buttons but fails for lack of caring on either charachter.
add whatever you want to this list - - but its all so formulaic i find myself
upset that i watch any episodes hoping for anything better.
kcrw's the treatment [http://www.kcrw.com/etc/programs/tt ] had a very
interesting podcast with show creator jenji kohan a few weeks back that is well
worth the listen in regards to the future of weeds, leaked previews and all
sorts of interesting stuffs...
season 3 was 'ok', as good as 2 imo. the series was at it's peak when u-turn was
adding his hijinx to the show's' humor. i thought the use of the fires and
current events was clever but definitely an eass way to end the season.
