not a lot of information on tv.com, except for an average user rating of 4.1.
on wikipedia there is a short description:
"comedy lab is a series which showcases pilots of experimental comedy shows.
irregular series have been aired on channel 4 since 1998.
several pilots first shown on comedy lab have spawned full series, most
notably including trigger happy tv, fonejacker, that peter kay thing and meet
the magoons. it also gave jimmy carr his first television appearance in jimmy

this specific episode was about karl pilkington; those who listen to the ricky
gervais podcast will know the name. it's basically about a stupid man trying to
discover if more intelligence is equal to more happiness. it's a rather specific
comedy type and it requires the prerequesite of the podcasts/xfm radio show to
really understand most of it, but it's worth it. the show was hilarious, and
karl has a huge cult following. check out pilkipedia.co.uk for more
information, or goto rickygervais.com and click 'who is karl?'
totally recommend this for people who can go into new--and possibly
different--shows with an open mind. this isn't your slapstick, in your face,
bright coloured sketch show, and does raise alot of issues worthy of some
discussion. great episode and i hope this one get's picked up as i'm a huge fan
of pilkington, gervais and merchant and all of their work.
yeah funny program, totally inline with the gervais style comedy from teh
office and extras. i first saw karl in the bonus material on gervais's standup
dvd entitled politics, its very very funny and if you liek any of his earlier
stuff i reccomend you catch up on media relating to karl, as mentioned there
are a lot of podcasts out there which are wirth a listen too.
open your minds, dont be scared of what you might find 🙂
just watched it, it was terrible. very prententious and not funny at all. i'm
sure that if you listen to the above mentioned podcasts it's very hilarious,
but if this program was an indication of the podcast i'm very happy to have
missed those.
comparing this to the office (uk) is like comparing a turd with a porterhouse
steak. there is a relation, but you're only want to eat one of them.
thank god this is a pilot, and it will never be made into a show. british
comedy has now officially lost it.
