since a couple of weeks ago i have this strange problem: even though the site
says there are hundreds of seeds, my utorrent client only lists a few tens.
this causes a _very_ low dl rate, since the client can only connect to an even
lower number of seeds. the leechers number is ok, and this happens with other
torrents too.

i've read the newbies section and added the trackers listed there -- no effect
that i could notice, client seeds is still ~10% of site seeds. i tried
increasing the allowed number of connection and also decreasing it -- again,
no apparent effect.

this is a new problem and i don't remember making any changes on my end. does
anyone know what could cause this and suggest a fix?

i have the exact same problem. at least now i know it's not just me.
i have the rss feed so my downloads start just when the torrents are released.
and i have it set so it only downloads one thing at a time, so that should
make it go faster.
but what happens is that it goes really slow, around 10kb/s. and then, maybe 8
or 9 hours later suddenly it starts going faster, even at 100kb/s.

so i don't know. it may still be our computer or our utorrent settings, or it
may just be the tracker.
maybe all those people get such fast speeds because they have super high
connection.
i have 1mb, and the only time the downloads go as high as 300kb/s is when i
use a private tracker like digital hive, or when i download the the daily show
and the colbert report.

although i remember that several weeks ago it went really fast from the
beginning. by the time i was up everything had been completed. but then
suddenly one day it started going really slow, completing only 1 or 2 things.
