the aspect ratio is incorrect, so don't be too excited 😉
i'm not so sure, i think it's more a case of some slightly heavy cropping
during capture or conversion, after i read your post i had a closer look, and
fiddled with the aspect ratio a little, and it seems fine as is.
most of the other more recent rips were 624x352, and this one is 624x336, if
you bump it out a touch in any direction it looks wrong, so played normally the
ratio must be right, it's just had that extra 8 or so cropped from the top and
bottom for some reason.

at first i though the same. just compare the pg sign at the beginning with the
sign from the previous episode (veronica.mars.s03e05.proper.hdtv.xvid-
yestv.avi or other 624x352 rip).
if you stretch it to 624x352 (1.78), the pg box and the cw logo are exactly at
the same positions as in last week's yestv release. you can also tell by
identical frames in the opening titles for example.
compared to the lol release of s03e04, you would have to stretch it to 624x348
(1.79). compared to the fov release of s03e02 it would be 624x352 (1.78) again.
the 1:85 aspect ratio of this release is clearly wrong (looks wrong too imho),
so just watch it at something like 1.78.
i had an even closer look, but really if it is wrong, you have to really be
looking to notice it, i'd say maybe it's just from using a different resize
filter or something, probably within a programs acceptable tolerance when doing
the conversion xvid.
with all the issues we have been getting with rips, it's certainly a very minor
one.
