many invectives later, i still don't know if it's the same with the preair dvd
rip. i'm just gonna go ahead and download it...sheesh!

i haven't finished the download yet, and especially haven't watched it, but i
didn't hear about any cast change or anything for this series so if anything
changed, it might just be them shortening some stuff. more pre-airs i've seen
are about 4 minutes or so shorter.. i'm pretty sure they'd enhance the opening
though, where he was running through flowers as a kid with his dog, the
flowers were obviously composite lol. i really liked the show though,
hopefully it sticks..
i like the episode title. pie-lette.. pronounced "pilot" lol

judging by the review at tv.com it appears to be the same ep as the pre-air.
so unless someone sez otherwise i already have it so am giving it a pass.

i watched it and i can say that it is practically the same as the preair.
the only differece that i caught was that they cut the scene at the beginning
with ned and chuck doing the magic trick when they were kids. that's the only
thing that i realize was different.

i watched the preair and the actual episode side by side and the differences i
noticed are:
- ratio is 1:1.78 instead of 1:1.33 (greatly appreciated by me)
- colors are slightly dismal (just the recording i guess)
- "the pie hole" is the ground floor of a larger building with a pie crust like
marquee instead of being pie shaped
- there's a title screen after ned realizes that the girl that died is chuck
- after ned tells chuck that she can't touch him the camera shows the front of
"the pie hole" and instead of ned's flat being next to it it's above it (imo
it's a nicer shot, but completely negligible)
- the scene where ned and emerson speak with chuck's aunts is slightly different
(chuck's spying is apparent a bit sooner)

side tracked
it's one of the worst shows i've ever seen. it's so fucking twee i wanted to
vomit - no exaggeration. people with a mental age below six may appreciate the
bright colours. everyone else should avoid. unlike wonderfalls, we want this
one to crash and burn.
if you don`t like it don`t watch it or comment on it. or is the reason you do
this is you like really crap shows like heroes and the (secure) unit because
you may very well have some form of special needs.
what you meant to say was dont dl it and shut up.
;)

i kinda liked the peace and quite when the forums were down.
seeing the sorry
state of things when it is working maybe we should get rid of them
altogether...
nice to know i'm not the only person thinking this. i also liked the peace and
quiet when the forums were offline. it begs the question, do we really want all
this feedback... seeing the same questions being asked time and time again.. all
the idiots who feel like it's their divine right to give you their "oh so
valuable" point of view.. rather than realising the this forum is a privilege
not a right.
we have no need to provide this forum.. we did it because we thought it might be
nice for the users. it is not required for the functioning of this site.. people
would still come and get their torrents from here and we wouldn't have to listen
to the moaning/idiots/anything. after all, we do this out of pure charity, why
should we have to listen to anything? but i'm sure others will disagree with me.
i'm personally now of the mind that it was a good experiment, but a failed one.

you must mean 1.78:1 (i.e. 16:9) - widescreen tv shows are virtually always
1.78:1, there's not much stuff in 1.66:1, although quite a lot of the older
disney movies are 1.66:1.

oops, of course you're right, i'm actually used to call this ratio 16:9 but
never really read that on english speaking boards, and now i mixed some formats
up, thought that 1:1.66 was tvs and 1:1.78 was cinema when the latter is
actually tvs and cinema has 1:1.85 (among others of course).

i was gonna ask what this show is like but got side tracked
extracted from a short review i wrote on this series:
i love the narrative that peppered the series, "his dog digbey was three years
two weeks six days five hours and nine minutes old... and not a minute older."
which made the series felt like a storybook, matching the storybook scenes. the
scenes are very picturesque, very homey and retro. very... color-matched.
there were a lot of word repeating titles, such as the name of the town
(couer 'd couers), name of the travel agent (boutique travel travel boutique),
the aunts' celebrity name (the darling mermaid darlings), among others.
came from the producer of lemony snicket's a series of unfortunate events,
this series has a very similar feel to it.
note: not for an audience who are finicky about details or realism, just enjoy
the tale. best for those who wants to entertain the little kid inside.
