and thats kookoo... not wanting to raise the ire of the "its free stop whinging
noob" brigade, why was the proper left available, when it was far from proper..
gom player gives me the shits at the best of times but it's all i can use to get
full screen tv-out in the correct aspect ratio, since nvidia are retarded
useless bastards and wont fix/dont care about their bullshit drivers, so
thinking it was gom player, i went back to bsplayer but with no decent aspect
ratio, ended up going back to the 84. nvidia drivers from march last year.
so did hr versions have a funeral this week? i know that they
dont have top
priority and thats fine, but did they like...die ;-) ?
actually yes hr is dead to the scene (ok more like dying and fast)
scene wise 720p is where it is at now that releases from top
groups like ctu come out under 1 hour after air and faster than
most other groups hr's.
ok, i hope they keep it going though. i think the 700mb caps are great. the 720p
codecs aren't that great yet imho, but i guess the extra 300mb download is ok.

x264 is great, but a cpu hog. for example, an old northwood p4 2.80ghz can
handle a 720p on xvid (60% cpu usage at most), but it certainly can\'t on x264
(it goes over 100% most of the time.) and i\'m talking about a source with a
combine data rate of 3000 kbps (2550 for video, 450 for audio.)
