why are the aired rips getting uploaded, or even ripped for
that matter?
i'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt.
three reasons "why the aired rips are getting uploaded."
1) the first was not an aired rip. it was an inside release of the first 2
episodes of this fantastic series. this means that release groups can fight for
the honor of being the first to upload dexter s02e01.
2) some people (not myself) decided to wait for the "aired rips" so that they
wouldn't get a small "fix" of dexter and have to wait even longer for newer
episodes.
3) as the first 3 - 4 posts were asking "are these the same??" changes do happen
from the leaked episodes to the final "aired" versions.
eg: bionic woman they changed a cast member between the preair and the aired
version.
me .... i'm just grateful, dexter is an amazing series one i would have very
little chance of seeing without the great folks here at eztv and the release groups.
while those are all great reasons.. how about because this is hdtv release? the
preairs are dvdrips.. which are not hd.. dvds are never hd.. that is why we have
hd-dvd and blu-ray...... ... ..
so it is not identical in terms of quality.
although with the xvid compression/resizing, doubt you can tell any difference.
the point is that one has been encoded from a hd source.. the other has not..
which is why my point is not moot. and why the comment below is wrong.
both the dvdrip and the hdtvrip are below dvd quality, so your point is moot.
[[admin edit: but one was encoded from a hd source.. xvid is obviously going to
produce a higher quality output if it's given a higher quality source to begin
with..
as the saying goes: put shit in, get shit out.. ]]
asking if this is different from the preair is a perfectly valid question,
