most of you must be watching a different show than me. this whole season has
been boring, and this finale is no exception. it's definitely the weakest
season of rm, by far!
totally agree, pretty boring season! this last episode wasn't that bad,
regular episode i would say. let's hope that next year they have a better
season.

yeah it was kinda meeeeehhhh and very forgetable ☹️
shame . . .
i\\\'m sticking to my guns -- i thought this season was fucking fantastic.
i\'ve been saying this all season: the writers simply chose to go in a completely
different direction with the series\' plots and characters. personally, had that
given us more of the same, i would\'ve thought this season would have been
boring, but no -- i loved the change in tone, the monologues (including lou\'s
fantastic, albeit short, speech near the end this episode/season), fucking everything about this season. can\'t wait for more.
this season was much more introspective, much more serious, i also thought it
was ok but not as good as earlier seasons. but even a poor season of rescue me
is still better than almost anything else out there. i also cant wait for the
next installment i hope this show runs & runs, and lets see more of uncle teddy
(lenny clark) who is hilarious.
i have to disagree on that. to me it wasn't serious enough. the chief's death,
for example, wasn't dealt with by the guys at all. he was a very important
character and they just moved on like he was a random guest of the week. another
thing that really bugged me was mike's reaction after sean set his house on
fire. i was actually hoping they'd kill his character by the end of this season
as he's become a complete joke.
oh, and on lou's speech, i think it was far too obvious. kinda like: "hey
viewers, it was a pretty boring season, we know, but that's just life." give me
a break, it's just laziness.
i don\'t dwell on what l don\'t like about the show, i prefer to remenber the eps
that had me rolling up with laughter, like when tommy\'s dad (charles durning)
and uncle teddy decide to re-capture their youth and end up holed up in tommy\'s
flat with booze, drugs, hookers, a crazed monkey, & a black little person who
can converse with horses. when that little black guy made a move on big teddy
telling him he was in love with him, ... i fuckin died laughing!
...... the chief's death,

seriousely i was left numb there . . . the episode ends with him killing himself
. . . i wait a week to see what happens . . . and although next episode starts
as it should, it continues and ends as if absolutely nothing happened . . . what
the hell?
i still like the series but some things looked a bit . . . meh
fine episode to end a great season, filled with
brilliant work from the lighting to the fx, to the
crew and cast, audio track mixing to great songs,
running themes, and realistic life all around. what
other show tells it straighter or better, or funnier?
they gave the chief an honorable plot leading to his
suicide. he had some of the most poignant moments on tv
this year as he dealt with his wife tragic alzheimer's
disease. then he saved tommy as his last good deed by
using every trick he learned as a heroic fireman. they
want us to remember him that way. tommy dealt with it
in his monologue. and we're moving on. live every day. . .
like you're uncle teddy, that's funny.
but mike said he had bad memories of his house, so his reaction
is understandable, at least in the show\'s universe.
it\'s ok for the character to be more on the comic relief part of the show, but
for him to become exclusively that, without any kind of a serious side, just
makes it hard to care whether he\'s still on the show or not.

it would have
been weird if they got all weepy and touchy feely.
between \'all weepy and touchy feely\' and nothing, they should\'ve expressed some
sort of pain. the chief was not only a very important character but also, out of
all the guys, the one who had gone through the most development. after the form
in which the character left the show, what disappointed me the most was their
total indifference. even his son, whom he had already been on good terms with,
didn\'t show any signs of sadness. the problems between jack mcgee and denis
leary behind the scenes clearly got in the way.
as you can see, for me to be so passionate with my arguments, i love this show
and was disappointed by the fourth season. hopefully next year it\'ll be back
better than ever.
