Flash Gordon S01E01 HDTV XviD-SYS

but its so soon after the dsr, which station, hdnet?

hdtv can't save this pile of ****.

this show is just awful. the story is laughable (not in a good way either) and
the main "actor" cant act.

sprinkle with some special effects that make star trek (the original show) look
absolutely brilliant and you can conclude that this show should be missed at all
costs.

why the heck are people so stinking critical on this site. do you guys hate
everything

i\'d like to offer some \'constructive\' criticism, and hope for this series,

all i can suggest is that they pull the plug before ep. 2 ☹️

i think the real problem is there is just soooooo much more bad tv lately. i
mean, i have heard literary experts say there are really only 9 basic stories to
be told. you know, you have your basic two romances, successfull romances and
unsucessfull, the parent child relationship movies, the hero beats the bad guy
movies, etc..and pretty much every plot has been done to death, and the writers
just can't come up with original ways to present them.

i value peoples opinions about shows, but even if it gets all bad comments on
the plot, if i like the description i will watch it a few times, and if i only
like it a little i'll download it for when star trek isn't on.

btw, anyone have word on the a/v quality?

it's not that everyone is critical, it's just that this site has a lot of forum
antics compared to many others. some torrent sites, you'll have hundreds of
dlers and not one comment.

lately, though, there have been an amazing amount of shite shows - fact. also
what made it seem worse was a lot of the better shows were on a break.

as for my views?

have the makers of painkiller jane been allowed to breed and produce a new
show? rename this to flush gordon.

just because something is made available free doesn't mean it's automatically
good.

think of herpes, for example.

i actually thought it was a pretty awesome show and has great potential. its a
bit like sliders but the alternate (and true version of flash gordon) is far
worse. in case people don't know, heres an excerpt from wikipedia:

"the comic strip followed the adventures of flash gordon and his companions dale
arden and dr. hans zarkov. the story begins with earth bombarded by fiery
meteors. dr. zarkov believes the meteors are from outer space, and invents a
rocket ship to locate their place of origin. half mad, he kidnaps flash and
dale, and the three travel to the planet mongo, where they discover that the
meteors are weapons devised by ming the merciless, evil ruler of mongo."

so you see, they actually made things a *tiny* bit better by not making flash be
half mad, or make him "kidnap" people 🙂 the rocket ship would've been cool
though :d

there are a lot of differences between this and the 1980 film.
this series is more modern and is quite good, flash (the actor can act), ming
is not as mad looking but is evil. however dr. zarkov is a wimp.
it has potential and will get better.

to put it bluntly, this show is roughly as good as smallville is. so if you like
smallville, chances are you'll like this one.

however, if for you, flash gordon is synonymous with intergalactic adventures,
evil bearded emperor, lotsa sfx, and compelling (or at least charismatic)
actors, forget about this.

this flash gordon is all about canadian forests, cheap sfx, a bad cylon/borg
clone straight out of power rangers, awful lead actors, and a ming so
transparent it's not even funny. and it's so slow you just want to hang yourself.

oooh, and i almost forgot the dude with the segway under his huge robe....

another great failure for sci-fi.

wow tv can\'t get any worse than this rotting pile of garbage. there is not one
positive thing you can say about flash gordon. the whole show is stupid from
start to finish. a deranged monkey could come up with a better script.

for god\'s sake cancel it b4 it causes any more human misery.

you know what? i\'ll judge for myself, i\'m downloading it right now. 🙂

i don't know if this was an insult or a compliment since i enjoy smallville..
but thought flash gordon was horrible. fiance and i couldn't make it through to
the end. i'm a big fan of sg, sg:a, bsg, firefly, hell basically most shows
scifi puts out.. but this was just bad.
