"this soapy drama tells the story of two multi-generational latin american
families, the duques and the samuels in the rum and sugar business. this series
explores the rivalry between the two families as well as the power struggles
within the individual families."

modern-day dynasty/dallas-type show. plus it has jimmy smits! could be worth a
viewing.

unfortunately, cbs is putting it in the tuesday @ 10 pm slot, where every show
they've placed there has been cancelled the past few years. gl cane.

yep, it's on against law&order svu and boston legal. so cbs better settle for
third, because i doubt cane will do better than those 2.

i haven't watched it yet, but it looks good. although i haven't heard much
about the show, it has some very good actors in it.

if your sound and picture are out of sync, just use mplayer instead of windows
media player. that way, you can sync it on the playback instead of on the encode.

i watch them on my standalone divx dvd player so i can't. all the ones i have
watched have not been terribly out of sync though so i found them watchable

eh, i think i'll probably skip this one,

whatever it is like, that description makes me want to give it a wide berth.

and i got well fed up with jimmy smits back in l.a. law times.

or for those of u burning this to dvd..

download virtual-dub! if u load the .avi file , then click generate , then to
the right enter the amount of ms out of synch it is u cn repair the file
yerself n it will generate a new perfectly in synch copy

or if u never have used "m-player' like me n use vlc media player u can easily
re-synch the file yerself to view it also (settngs, prefences, audio, advanced
options, then enter how many "ms" out of asynch the rip is in the audio
desynchronization box (ex 500ms = .5 seconds) n click save n the rip will play
fine

im notnsure exqctley how much this release is out of synch but crx has be
hoprrible so far as keeping their rips in synch (bionic woman, chuck, etc)

for anyone interested in re-synching "bionic woman" or "chuck" bionic woman is
175ms out of synch and chuck is 250ms out of synch for the first 6-7mins then
after its fine

i believe that the preairs have been out of sync because the release groups have been splicing out the
frames with the serials. so the sync jumps around a bit, first +100-200ms then -100-200ms.

jepp, mplayer rocks. and i wish everything >today< could be coded
mkv+x264+vorbis. standalones soon would follow.

btw all those pre-airs. ~20 pilots to watch in a week, then you have to wait
half a year for the rest of the season ;(

u guys r making it too complicated...

just dl the avi, play with vlc player, if it goes outta sync, use the ctrl + k
or ctrl + l to either delay or speed up the audio, goes by 50ms incraments,
works instantly and every time 🙂

and you are not paying attention. try reading the thread again 🙂

this is about burning to dvd/cd and watching on tv via standalone player.
if it is out of sync you need to fix it before you burn for most players.

i really loved this show and i hope its a huge succes.
if i hade to chose between this and law&order svu and boston legal i would watch cane and tivo svu.
the reson its so late is maybe because they dont find it sutable for small children.
cane is the best pilot i have seen this year and chuck is the second but it cant mach cane's quality.
