just want to preface this by saying it's not a flame or anything... but, does
anyone else find that the quality of the writing on the show has really gone way
way down between this season and last? i used to really enjoy this show, and
then it started to falter a bit, and then with the start of this season it was
almost like an entirely different show.

i'm still snagging for now (and i'm still thankful for folks putting it up, that
of course remains as always) and hoping it'll get back up to its old standards,
but it's been kinda depressing. it seems to be headed for dead zone 90210 territory.

whoa! so the armageddon arc is over? what the hell? that was a lame ending for a
story that was going on since the end of season 1... i was hoping for a
cataclysmic (did i spell that right?) ending like the one in the book... oh
well... i love the new sheriff, if nothing else:)

aha, new writers, that would explain a lot. 🙂 ah well. knowing that in some
ways makes me happier to be honest, maybe they're just trying to get into a
groove and will start popping out some better scripts once they're more
comfortable with it.

in other words, they pushed the reset button.

again!!!!

this show is so fookin lame now, i barely forgave them for pissing the
storyline away after season two and now they've done it again.. and they spend
three seasons building up the congressman as a really evil guy.. then they
completely fudge previous writing and make him "not so bad after all". bollox.

and the only supporting "actor" who should have left ages ago (de"bore" ) is
the only one left?!?!?!?!?

this show should just dry up and blow away.

natalie in cincinnati, ohio: why did the season premiere of
the dead zone wrap up the armageddon storyline so quickly, after stringing it
along for three-plus years? what gives?
apparently, they cleaned house on the dead zone this year and brought in an all-
new writing staff. the new staff presumably didn't have a personal or
professional stake in the armageddon story so they ditched it to begin writing
their version of the show.

^^^ found the original quote.
who knows if the arc's actually over though. personally, i hope they restart it
at the end of the season somehow. right now there are still some loose threads
left hanging. i mean, seriously, does the illuminati consist of only one
person? 😛

sorry guys, but i liked it.

my problem is i didn\'t see the movie first, i saw the show first. so my
expectations about armageddon are \"thanks, but no thanks.\" i watch it for
the
paranormal/superhero aspect. i will say i find it more interesting when both
johnny and bruce are working together.

i\'m ok with walt biting the dust. the reason i\'m ok with it is because it
means that yes, bad things can happen in the future - sometimes johnny can\'t
alter it the way he wants. that also means, by the same token, all that has to
happen is for one person to get on stillson\'s staff that can grab the future
by
the b***s at the last minute and force armageddon the way johnny first saw it.

i think when the end comes upon us, armageddon will be more of a shock if we go
on believing nothing\'s going to happen. besides, with jericho being renewed,
they\'d just be another doom and gloom show. jericho is in a better position
to
tell that story. the dead zone may be trying to steer away from it after the
ratings on shows like jericho, day break and traveler got them all cancelled.
(cbs put the jericho fans on notice if they didn\'t bring in a bigger audience,
the next eight episodes would be their last.)

just my two cents.

well ... this seemed like some "film noir" episode ... not too bad for a
mid-season filler, but i still think tdz has (temporarily, i hope) lost it's
edge ... there could be so much to exploit from the all-new situation (new
sheriff, bruce gone, the 'walt' investigation) and what do we get? three rather
lame episodes in a row after a promising season start.

other shows have been kicked out for less ...

i too found the sudden termination of the long running armageddon arc insulting
to the viewers, however, i do like the fact that walt died unavoidably, and the
direction they're taking with his son having a gift as well as the cynical new
sherrif. that said, the one scene of him walking on the skin of the space
shuttle as the perspective stays on him was fantastic, and probably would not
have happened under the previous staff. rarely do we see him impressed rather
then burdened with his visions, and it was nice for him to be in awe of the
spectacle of space.
