these pre-airs were made quite a while ago and used to get the networks to okay the shows for a series... they *usually* only leak once they start getting sent to stations and go through a lot more hands but you'd be amazed how many shows recast or change storylines between pilot and the first broadcast episode. of this years pilots (not all have had pre-airs leaked yet) reaper recast the love interest played by nikki reed with missy peregrym(sp?), moonlight recast just about everyone but the lead etc. it was also recently announced that sarah connor chronicles is re-shooting the school shooting scene out of consideration for virginia tech so it'll happen in a similar way but in a different location. some that are interesting ones in the past are smallville (the only casting change was annette o'toole as martha), buffy the vampire slayer (hard to imagine the series without alyson as willow), the unit (amy acker was original cast as the bob brown's wife) and charmed (been ages since i've seen the unaired pilot but at least one of the sisters was different). |

i can see why all the rumours are pointing to this getting axed very rapidly! that was truly awful beyond belief- definitely the worst pre air of the season so far imo |

think it was ok. but the idea with the deaf sister is a weak attempt to give the female charecter some tender touch and depth. lose the sister... but a really promising show... andgtin the cast is strong. and nice to see some fighting scenes... hope it dosn't get cancelled due to budget costs and low rating like blade which was a cool show regarding effects, fight scenes etc. |

okay, i'm old enough to remember the first one, which i loved (who says kids have taste?!). however, this one is too serious, grim. aside from miguel ferrer (who can act in anything), i don't care for any of the characters. i liked mae whitman but i hear she is axed so yet another reason for me not to watch it. |

can you say heroes? law & order? (okay, tbj bombed, but still...) i'm also getting out of sync audio, but i'm getting it on several of the shows i've downloaded from eztv recently. could it be that the rippers/cappers are getting sloppy? or could it possibly be a codec issue? i'm using the latest cccp. anyone using something different and getting better results? |

i just watched it, thought it was ok but it would need to get better for me to consider watching it weekly. plot was dull and the acting was average at best |

you and me both! i liked the first jamie summers a lot better because she was just a normal person doing something positive (i wouldn't be a teacher in today's schools for all the tea in china!). when she took people on she didn't have this uber-violent undertone running through her. not only was this bad, it was way too dark. there were several things i didn't like about it, but i read somewhere in one of the forum threads that you're not supposed to say anything specific about the episode until three months after it airs. the filming was dark like the x-files, the story was dark and i didn't really like anyone they cast (very uncohesive group). miguel was the only person i connected with (probably because i'm a crossing jordan fan). i didn't like the premise, i didn't like the story...i did like the deaf chick though. i like unusual things and the idea of having a deaf character is a different world for me so it's interesting. i'd definitely pass this one up, which sucks because i was looking forward to the show being more like the original. i passed on bsg too because it was way too dark when they reimagined it, so i guess that's just the way they do it now. kill off the good things about the original and make it dark and dreary. out of 5 stars? none. it needs way too much work. don't be disappointed - wait until they fix the show and then download it. btw, speaking of fixing things, i had very little audio sync problems. i attribute them to using an old laptop without enough cache memory or hard drive space while my desktop is getting a spinrite treatment. i had some audio problems with the other ones, but apparently there is a bug with ac3 they had to fix. as soon as i downloaded the new ac3 release, the audio on the others synced up right. this one was still off though. |
