kyle xy suffers from the same problem that most of these lower budget shows do
(the 4400 being one of them). the premier episode and the finale tend to be
pretty decent. the mid season episodes tend to be weak. i put it down to
financial constraint and lack of good ideas. i get the impression that the
writers initially come up with great premises for these shows which seem good in
principal to the networks but when it comes down to actually making a decent
show they tend to stutter.
producer for kyle xy: let's make a show about a lab made teenager with special
abilities.... it's hip, will attract the geeks and the kids alike and get good
numbers.
network: sounds cool... we'll pay for a pilot. story ideas?
producer for kyle xy: we'll get back to you on that......
dsr rips are fine for cable shows. after all, a lot of us won't ever get hd
versions broadcast. i just watched this ep on a 37 inch lcd. didn't mind the
dsr version at all. if the story is good enough, no one should care if it is
dsr or hdtv...
i dont care if it is hd or dsr or mpg-1 🙂 this is a nice show, if i wanted
grade a quality, i would wait for the box-set.
for people who just want to watch the episodes, dsr should be fine. maybe even
the piracy bit would tone down a notch when most tv-rips were dsr. but thats
something for the forums.
yeah..where r the hdtv version... i really don't understand.. is it mean that
prison break will also be in dsr..uh my god..i really like that show..please
tell me that prison break will be going as before.. hdtv release..please..i
really like that show
okay, because i'm getting sick of this thread i'll kindly recap why (to my
understanding) the hdtv is no longer capped.
apparently when the show is shown in hdtv on fridays, there's about 1 or 2
minutes cut (more ad time?) from the show. its been discussed ad nauseum that
this therefore makes the hdtv rip inferior since content has been cut and the
unedited version is preferable even if its just dsr.
my understanding was the hdtv captures ran at a slightly faster speed (which
isn't noticeable)... but no content was actually cut from it... i dunno... i'd
still prefer quality over quantity.
hdtv versions most likely won't be
released here anymore.

it's unbelievable ! i don't understand why ! i hope some
independent rippers will do it !
its simply that eztv wont be upload the scene rls hdtv which is still captured
by scene groups (well not s01e03 but eztv had nothing to do with that). eztv
doesn't capture anything to begin with. so it looks like you have to use private
trackers or tpb now to get it
and its been talked about over and over that no content is missing from hdtv
versions.
i might watch this show on a sdtv but even ignoring the quality difference for a
minute... 16:9 is still way better then 4:3 cropped video
4:3 cropped: h**p://img386.imageshack.us/img386/8715/kxy201dsrpj7.jpg
16:9 : h**p://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6268/kxy201hdtvop8.jpg
its not like people are asking for 1100mb 720p's for this show, just a 16:9
higher quality 350mb file.
