i don't get why people make such a fuss over getting the hd version. i get
whatever comes first, watch it, delete it. doesn't bother me! just don't get

if you had a 50" hd plasma widescreen tv, you'd
understand. things are just better in hd widescreen! 😛
with something like bsg that has hdtv months after the dsr i can understand
grabbing it but when a better quality version (and the difference is definitely
noticeable - especially if you burn/stream and watch it on a tv rather than a
monitor comes) out the same week (or sooner in the case of some other shows) it
doesn't bother me to wait.
second, i just wanted to add my 2 cents worth on the whole hdtv thing. i
agree for a show like bsg that i am archiving and burning to dvd (for my
father -- he dosen't have sci-fi) i'll wait for the hd version. for something
like kyle xy (and given that the hd version has dialouge/scenes cut) i'm quite
happy with the dsr version. this is mainly because i'm just going to transfer
it to my creative zen w to watch on my lunch break at work. after that, i
delete it as i'm not archiving the show.
in the end, to each his own. grab the release you like the best for your
viewing purposes. i'm just thankful for all the amazing efforts being put in
by the different release groups for capping these shows so i can enjoy them on
my terms. i travel quite a bit and if it weren't for their efforts and my zen
w, i'd miss a lot of my shows i like. thanks eztv!!
yeah.. it's been tested by people who've downloaded both. for some reason the
hdtv runs just 3-4 seconds faster per minute which by the end of the show adds
up to about 2-3 minutes difference in total running time.
there's apparently no content lost though, and the theory is that it's abc's way
of squeezing a little more commercial time in. the difference is so tiny it's
not even noticeable when you're watching it unless you have both versions
playing side by side.

who's making a fuss hehe. he just said he's waiting for it.. not like he's
complaining =)
