i have watched the first 2 episode's and i kinda... well like it..
wich is ackward for me.. i really hate big brother and all the spin-offs but i
like the physical ordeal the people have to endure, and the way the game is set
up .. because its basicly 1 captain, who gets 50 percent (wich he may share with
the crew at will..) of the treasure's they find, and 2 "sherrifs?" that also get
a big cut, and then the rest of the guys, the captain can be mutiny'd against
every week by the crewmembers in order to vote him off..
or they just vote off 1 of the crewmembers, wich go's like this: 3 crewmembers
are chosen by the captain, then the crewmembers vote wich one , or mutiny.
because of the captain getting 50 percent, and the crewmembers getting like
5~10percent, it is a pretty.. well.. ackward situation.. in wich the crewmembers
basicly have complete control, if they will...
like all shows, it's not for everyone. it definitely tries to cash in on the
"pirate fetish/obsession" americans have (and probably the rest of the world)
after the trilogy of pirates of the caribbean and johnny depp.
i, myself detest reality shows, but somehow have become inclined to watch this
one. there's no voting to determine outcomes, and it is mostly reminiscent of
big brother and survivor. there is a varied cast and new and interesting locales
every week. the whole "chest of zanzobar" feels like a very contrived idea of
how to keep the cast and the audience from tuning out.
mark burnett is also responsible for this show as well, so by now you have
learned what to expect from him. so, anyways, just give the first couple
episodes a try and see if you like it. but try to keep in mind that you will be
finding me, an avid/livid hater of reality shows, tuning in every week (or
coming here).
oh god... i just found out... my condolences to you all in the us...
you have a daddo on your screens in a reality tv show.... my god, we finally got
rid of them, and... well... on behalf of all australians, our sincerest apologies..
