i recently read that the ratings were so bad, they'd be scrapping the show on
monday (film show?) and combining/compressing it into the results show. first
step on the road to early cancellation, it seems...
so if the films were dissapointing, maybe they were edited heavily due to time
constraints.
i stopped watching this show when they went to the idol format of judging, i
wished they kept it like project runway or others with pros, peers and guests
judging not the public and an hour of filler with some annoying host.
five of the fifteen contestants show their short films in this episode.
this week judges carrie fisher, garry marshall and guest judge "transformers"
director michael bay provide their feedback and the the public will vote. next
week one contestant will be eliminated and five more contestants will show their
films for the judges to give their thoughts on and the public to make the final
choice and vote on!
looks like theyre cutting down so theres a) more time for voting b)one less show
and c)shorter show

i don't like the fake tension they try and build up. "billy, the box office
has spoken and... *cut cameras between everyone* ... you're safe. and the
whole going to comercial a la deal or no deal.
and i miss not seeing any behind the scence stuff. i thought the true alure
of this show would be watching nobodies try and cut it behind the camera.
watching them learn to deal with actors and dp's and whinny producers.
i don't mind the public judging, after all that is how true success are
determined in the real world in the film industry. i just don't think they
need to draw it out to a full hour of nothing but talk.
