yeah, this seems just as unsubstantiated... until the bbc speak out
themselves... i'll be over here on the fence... dark horizons is quoting a
fansite which have it on a good authority kind of thing... both sources [thesun
and freemaagyemjan.com] are as dubious as each other... guess time will tell on
this one...

i may be wrong but i\'m pretty sure i\'ve seen this episode before. it would have
to be over 20-25 years ago. the scarecrows together with the rest of the
storyline are just too familiar for it to be a coincidence.

the episodes are actually written by the author of the novel you're refering to.

as mentioned in the dark horizons story, freemaagyeman.com actually claim to
have received a statement from the bbc, which the sun don't.. they just cite
"sources".
