why only 36 minutes? did the capper accidentally cut a segment out, or is that
the networks doing?

obviously.. or else they wouldn't cancel it.
we're not contending the fact that the ratings were horrible.. we're just
simply venting that's all. just because ratings are bad sometimes, doesn't
necessarily reflect the quality of the show to individuals. so even if
majority seemingly dislike it, there's always the minority and apparently
that's us.. the select few who really enjoyed the show.
case in point. firefly =/

with reference to family guy, it was only brought back after the seasons were
so successful in dvd sales. not ones to miss out on a quick buck the network
they recommissioned it...but on seeing what they have produced since i wish
they had left it at only 3 series

ashp20: that was the second time it was canceled.
the first time they brought it back (embarrassed) after it won an emmy.
the second time was after the great dvd sales.
anyway, i watched this ep of s60 off the air, and couldn\'t understand why it
started late and ended early-ish.
does anyone know if they cut this episode or something?

what really irks me is the lack of advertising they did. almost to spite loyal
fans "here you are take your 6 episodes and shove it and btw we are bringing
back 30 rock even though its ratings were worse than your show because we dont
have a target audience for intellegent tv...nbc is the new reality whore
brodcasting company..." it sickens me that the only channel brodcasting scripted
television is cbs...hopefully they take a hint and pick up the series, rebuild
the sets and produce this show for a few more years.
/end rant lol
jon
p.s s60 was a 2.75/18 ratings which if you care to compare to the rest of the
nbc line up that night, was the same for everyone...hi ratings for a #4 watched
network.

yeah, sad that this show is getting canceled. putting it up against a show with
an established fan base like csi: miami was kinda dumb, they should have put it
up on like wednesday night or something.. is there even anything on wednesday?
nothing i watch at least.

lost is on wednesday, so is american idol, although only lost is at 10. they
should've used the thursday at 10 time-slot (like they are doing now) the whole
season. it would be perfect after their comedy line up, e.r. (which is usually
thursday at 10) was sooo out of place.

well, on wednesdays this season we've had friday night lights, bones, criminal
minds, one tree hill, 30 rock (for a bit), lost, csi new york, medium as well as
all the cancelled jericho, the nine, kidnapped, 20 good years, justice (again
for a bit), knights of prosperity, in case of emergency and let's not forget the
juggernaught that is american idol.
so, if studio 60 was put on a wednesday, it probably would've been pulled much
earlier than it was. at least we got 1 stellar sorkin season.

the show was cancelled for 2 reasons:
1. the ratings were horrible.
2. the show was very expensive to produce. i read that mathew perry's salary
alone was $600,000 + per episode.
with salary costs and production costs you need high ratings to recoup.
serialized dramas also don't do very well in syndication.
